I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the entire school community to the 2016/2017 school year. This year at Royal Oak we have 22 divisions and 643 students.
The Royal Oak staff are very excited to welcome our learners this week and have been working hard to prepare for their arrival. Extensive work goes on behind the scenes at Royal Oak before the school year begins. In the past week, staff attended workshops on the new curriculum and also welcomed Julie Anne Richards, a renowned speaker on anxiety and mental health for an afternoon workshop.
The Royal Oak staff are excited to continue their work implementing the new curriculum and to engage in conversations with both students and parents about the opportunities for learning this change will provide. As we work through this implementation year, please be patient with us as we challenge ourselves to try new things and take some risks—after all this is where the learning happens.
We look forward to meeting our new families at our Open House and welcome back BBQ on Wednesday, September 28th.
