It is hard to believe that another school year at Royal Oak is over.  It has been such a pleasure to watch your sons and daughters grow and learn over the course of the year.  Middle school is only three short years, but the changes that occur in our students in those years are nothing short of miraculous.  It truly is a privilege to be part of this process.

Despite the challenges at year end, it has been a great year.  Royal Oak students have shown themselves to be engaged and motivated learners who are passionate about their school and community.  This year, we have had successes in athletics, academics and the arts.  We are always so proud when visitors come into the school and remark on the positive tone and how polite and well mannered our students are.

As you well know,  Royal Oak staff are an amazing and dedicated group.  They set the tone for the students and provide the opportunities the students need to excel.  This year, one of our long term and dedicated staff members, Kathleen Sutherland is retiring.  Kathleen has spent her career as an instructional support teacher at Royal Oak.  She is well respected for her knowledge and much loved for her ability to connect with each and everyone of her students.  She has certainly left a lasting legacy at Royal Oak.

We wish each and every family a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you in September.

Carly Hunter and Ken Bergeron.
