Below are a number of online resources that we have found and like. If you know of one you think the staff and students should know about, please email Ms Morgan or Ms Prevost and tell them a bit about it. We hope to keep adding to this page as we go through the year.

Wordle is for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes.

Tagxedo turns words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters -- into a visually stunning word cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text. Lots of neat shapes to use.

Storybird is a collaborative storytelling tool. Students use collections of art to be inspired to write stories. Once the art is chosen, students are able to build their story by dragging and dropping pictures and creating a story to match.

Wordpress is a free, web-based software program that anyone can use to build and maintain a website or blog (weblog). A blog features diary-type commentary and links to articles on other websites, usually presented as a list of entries in reverse chronological order. Blogs can be personal, political or educational and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subjects.

Padlet - An Internet application that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, documents, text) anywhere on the page, together with anyone, from any device. Very easy to use.

Voicethread - A web-based digital storytelling program that enables users to upload pictures or documents, record accompanying audio (or video) commentary, and invite others to record commentary as well.

Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are productivity apps that let you create different kinds of online documents, work on them in real time with other people, and store them in your Google Drive online.

PBworks - Wikis are a collaborative tool, designed to allow people to create and edit web pages using a simple text editor. Wiki contributors can add, modify, or delete content collaboratively.
- Workflowy - An outlining app that runs on the Web. WorkFlowy as a website that makes and sorts lists and helps with taking notes. It can be used as a collaborative tool, assigning roles to different items on the list.
