Below are a number of online resources that we have found and like. If you know of one you think the staff and students should know about, please email Ms Morgan or Ms Prevost and tell them a bit about it. We hope to keep adding to this page as we go through the year.

Creative Connections

• Wordle is  for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes.

• Tagxedo turns words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters -- into a visually stunning word cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text. Lots of neat shapes to use.

• ExamTime - Transform your learning potential Improve your study with our specially designed software.

• Bubbl.us - Mind mapping. Brainstorm online with bubbl.us. Easily create colorful mindmaps to print or share with others. Almost no learning curve.

• Text 2 Mind Map - Create, share and collaboratively work on mind maps with MindMeister, the leading online mind mapping software. Includes apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

• Storybird is a collaborative storytelling tool. Students use collections of art to be inspired to write stories. Once the art is chosen, students are able to build their story by dragging and dropping pictures and creating a story to match.

• Wordpress is a free, web-based software program that anyone can use to build and maintain a website or blog (weblog). A blog features diary-type commentary and links to articles on other websites, usually presented as a list of entries in reverse chronological order. Blogs can be personal, political or educational and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subjects.
  

• Weebly gives everyone a surprisingly easy way to create a unique site. Make a free website or blog very easily - drag and drop.

Online Presentation Tools

• Prezi is a cloud based presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. The zoomable canvas makes it fun to explore ideas and make connections.

• Google Presentation - Part of Google Drive, Google Presentations gives you a tool that mimic PowerPoint, but it has the advantage of being online.

• Animoto - Create extraordinary videos of your life. Welcome to the most beautiful way to share your photos & videos online.

• Padlet - An Internet application that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, documents, text) anywhere on the page, together with anyone, from any device. Very easy to use.

• Voicethread - A web-based digital storytelling program that enables users to upload pictures or documents, record accompanying audio (or video) commentary, and invite others to record commentary as well.

• Glogster - A platform to create Glogs - interactive posters that can be loaded with text, graphics, music, videos, and more.
