I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the entire school community to the 2015/2016 school year. This year at Royal Oak we have 21 divisions and 607 students.
The Royal Oak staff were very excited to welcome our learners this week and have been working hard to prepare for their arrival. Extensive work goes on behind the scenes at Royal Oak before the school year begins. Before school started, staff attended workshops on assessment and supporting students' social-emotional needs. We also had a whole day together as a staff. The focus was on inquiry, assessment, student engagement and social emotional learning.
What a great first week we had at ROMS! The students are all settling in nicely. All of the staff are enjoying getting to know the students who are new to our community. We are looking forward to having the whole community together for our Open House on Sept 30.
The schedule for our open house is:
4:00-5:30 pm: Community BBQ in gym (or outside weather dependant)
5:30-6:00 pm: Teachers available in classrooms
6:00-6:30 pm: New Parent orientation in the MPR
