Ms. Hunter and a number of the ROMS teaching staff will be attending edcamp victoria. Saturday, February 28th from 8:30 to 3:20 at SJ Willis School - 923 Topaz Avenue.  They would like to encourage you to attend.

Edcamp is an "unconference," meaning that there isn't a rigid schedule of workshops and presentations planned in advance. Instead, ideas for collaboration and conversation are determined as attendees identify common themes/topics that they would like to explore, and what they can teach others about. The planning for the event has been a collaborative effort between School District 61, School District 62, School District 63, UVic, parents and others interested in K-12 education. The goal is to not only build community within our schools and district, but build connections with our neighbouring school districts and community with the purpose of sharing and further improving our practice.

An Edcamp collaboration might be as simple as a conversation or resource share, but there is a lot to learn from other educators. Pick up a few new tools and tips, share a couple of your own ideas and get inspired by the amazing educators from around our city. Facilitators will help guide conversation in sessions by simply asking questions. If you are interested in being more involved, please indicate on the online registration form.

And the best part: it will include snacks, lunch, and door prizes. And it is all free!  To learn more about edcampvic and information please visit:www.edcampvic.ca.
