Volleyball: There will be an important meeting today at FIRST recess for all team members of Mr. Freeburn's ROMS Purple Gr 6 Girls competitive team. All players must attend to confirm transportation to today's game.
Band Sectionals: Grade 6 band sectionals will run today at lunch advisory time for all trumpet players.
Choir: Choir will run today during lunch activity time in the band room.
Girls Group: Today girls in rotation 1 will meet at Advisory at the Blue Conference to do some shrink arts and make buttons. See you there!
Chess: Room 230 will be open on today at lunch for anyone interested in playing chess. Everyone welcome from beginners to experts.
Judo Club: Judo Club will be practicing today after school in the MPR.
ROMS Parent Review
Volleyball: This week's volleyball practice schedule can be found on the ROMS Athletics website and on the PE office doors. Also, game schedules for all competitive and recreational teams have been posted on lowerislandschoolsports.ca so please have a look to see where your team will be playing throughout the season.
Grade 8 Parents: Grade 8 Students have until Friday, March 13th to email Miss Cottier a baby photo for the yearbook.
Your Vision is Our Vision Project: Just a heads-up that the Central Saanich Lions Club is coming into Royal Oak on the morning of February 7th to screen our grade 6 students using the Spot Vision Screener. This is a yearly no cost program designed to assist identifying children in our community with vision problems. An information letter will be sent home with all grade 6 students as well as posted on our website.
ROMS LUNCH PROGRAM - Call for Baked Goods!!
The ROMS lunch program supports 20 registered students every day who need a little extra nutritional support. As a way to add something fun to the nutritious food that is already provided, we are asking you to contribute baked goods on one or more days throughout the rest of the year.
You don't even have to bake! Store-bought baked goods are welcome as well as homemade. We ask for either 2-3 dozen cookies or muffins, OR 1-2 loaves (ex. banana bread) to be dropped off at the school in the morning on the day you sign up for. There is a free parent workshop in March on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) led by Kim Fitzer, M.Sc., Jessica Carmichael, M.Sc and Dr. Jennie Preuss, M.D., FRCPC.
