Volleyball: This week's volleyball practice schedule for all teams can be viewed on the ROMS Athletic website and on PE office doors. Please have a look to see when your team is practicing. There will also be an important/mandatory meeting for all grade 6/7 boys who are on Mr. Menzies's REC team at FIRST recess in the gym as there were only 3 players who came to practice at lunchtime yesterday. Games for competitive teams begin next week.
Chess Club: Room 230 will be open for playing chess today at lunch recess. Everyone is welcome from beginners to experts.
Swim Team: Reminder to the ROMS Swim Team that the 3rd Swim meet of the season is this Sunday Jan 19th from 1:30pm - 4:30pm at Commonwealth pool. All swimmers are asked to check in with Mr. Menzies to confirm their attendance for the meet by tomorrow.
Choir: Choir will meet today in the band room at lunch activity time.
Sectionals: Grade 6 band sectionals will run today during lunch advisory time for all trombone students.
Musical Theatre: There will be a musical theatre rehearsal after school today for all cast members in the band room.
IBM Canada’s STEM Camp: Just a reminder to please submit your application to the office for the STEM day for grade 6/7 girls on January 21st . It is on a first come first serve basis and there are only a couple of spots remaining. Please see Mr. Mark or Ms. Cottier if you have any questions.
Girls Group: Girls in Rotation 1 will meet at the Blue Conference during Advisory for some fun activities today. Bring your lunch and see you there!
8’s Intra-Murals: Reminder to divisions 8-2, 8-4, 8-6 and 8-8 of their intra-mural dodgeball games Wednesday at lunch.

Volleyball: Please go to the ROMS Athletics website and lowerislandschoolsports.ca for practice schedules and league details. The practice schedules can be viewed on the ROMS Athletics website and on the PE office doors.
Grade 8 Parents: Grade 8 Students have until Friday, March 13th to email Miss Cottier a baby photo for the yearbook.
IBM Canada’s STEM Camp:
Saanich Schools recently received the opportunity to host IBM Canada's STEM Camp Program. This program is designed to empower girls in grades 6 and 7 with knowledge around Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to open more doors for their future.
This event will take place on January 21, 2020 at North Saanich Middle School. We have 30 spots available for Royal Oak. The district will providing busing to and from North Saanich (leave at 8:30 and return at 3:30). Please have students get a package from the office (that includes a parent letter, 3040-B permission form and media release form for more information) and return it to Mr. Mark.
