Photo Day: Our Lifetouch individual picture day will be on Thursday September 19th. Order forms will be sent to homerooms tomorrow. Please remember to bring them home.
Touch Rugby Team: Attention all students interested in playing on a touch rugby team. There will be a meeting today at FIRST recess in the gym for anyone interested. Please be there on time and help remind your friends. All grades are welcome!
Eagle PE Strip Fundraiser: 2019/2020 limited edition Royal Oak Eagles PE t-shirts, shorts, and PE strip bags made by Adidas and Champion are now available for order. Outfit yourself in the latest Royal Oak design and support your school's PE and Athletics programs as they raise money for new equipment, prizes, and uniforms while showing your school spirit. Order forms and images if this year's design can be found on the bulletin boards outside of the gym and also on the ROMS Athletics website. Also, sample sizes are available to try on at the PE office. All order forms are due in Mr. Menzies' hands today by the end of the school day. Please see him if you have any questions.
Musical: Meeting to gauge interest in doing a musical will meet on Monday, September 16, 2019 during Recess in the band room. For anyone interested in performing, crew, set design, or helping out in any way. There is no commitment necessary at this time.
Lost and Found: A girls ring was found in the Girls Change room Wednesday morning before school. Please claim at the office.
ROMS PAC NEWS
Hello Royal Oak Families,
Welcome to another great year at Royal Oak Middle School. PAC has a great executive team this year. We are looking to fill two positions as Co-positions for the Treasure and COPACS Representative. The families in these two roles are grade 8 parents, and they would like to have someone Co-position to learn the role and be ready to take on the position for the 2020/2021 school year. Duties for the two roles are listed below.
The Treasurer will:
·be one of the signing officers;
·ensure all funds of the Council are properly accounted for;
·disburse funds as authorized by the membership or executive;
·ensure that proper financial records and books of account are maintained;
·report on all receipts and disbursements at general and executive meetings;
·make financial records and books of account available to members upon request;
·have the financial records and books of account ready for annual inspection or audit
·with the assistance of the executive, draft an annual budget;
·Ensure that another signing officer has access to the financial records and books of account in the treasurer’s absence;
·Submit an annual financial statement at the annual general meeting.
The COPACS Representative will:
·attend all meetings of COPACS and represent, speak and vote on behalf of the
·maintain current registration of the Council in COPACS;
·regularly report to the membership and executive on all matters relating to
COPACS (usually at monthly PAC meetings);
·seek and give input to the COPACS on behalf of the Council;
·receive, circulate, and post COPACS newsletters, brochures, and announcements;
·receive and act on all other communications from COPACS;
·liaise with other parents and COPACS representatives;
