Today is National Indigenous People’s Day . This a day to celebrate the diversity and strength of Canada’s First Nations, Indigenous and Metis people.

Classroom Cleaning:
Please take both, garbage and recycling, out to the big green bins this week to prevent the bins from being filled to capacity on the last week of school.  


Exams: A reminder to students and staff that there are many exams taking place throughout the school for the next few days. Please keep the hallways clear and quiet during class time. Thank you for your consideration.


Gaga Ball Courts: On the courts today is Grade 8s, tomorrow is Grade 7s.


Grade 8 Farewell

Attention Grade 8 Students: Today is the final day to purchase Grade 8 Farewell tickets – 1:16 pm outside the office.

NOTE: You cannot buy tickets at the door.

From the Learning Commons - all library books are due in today! If you're cleaning out your lockers today, please be on the lookout for them. Ditto your desks, classroom bookcases, and wherever you like to read at home. Thanks from Ms. Lindsay and Ms. Gaudet.
Lost & Found: Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity today.


Yearbook:


There are less than 20 yearbooks left. See Miss Cottier in room 222 during morning recess or outside activity time to purchase a yearbook. First come, first serve for $40 cash each.


Paper Recycling:

Its Paper Recycle Day every day until June 27th - bins are open!

Reminder to all members of Athletic Leadership to please come to the gym with your lunch right after block 3 today.


Amazing Race:
Today is the final day of the Amazing Race Royal Oak. All remaining teams are asked to come to the gym right after advisory to begin the competition. Good luck today teams!


ROMS PARENT REVIEW:


Homework Club: ***Last day of Homework club will be Friday, June 21st. Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

ROMS PAC NEWS

Grade 8 Farewell - Monday June 24th, 6:00pm, $15

There are TWO more chances to buy your tickets:

FRIDAY, JUNE 21 (lunch activity time)

NOTE: You cannot buy tickets at the door.

In addition to the original three Fridays in June, the Farewell Committee has added an extra day - this Thursday - for you to buy tickets.

The Grade 8 farewell event, called “A Black and White Farewell” will be an evening full of fun, food and friends.  It is a celebration of all the memorable times the Grade 8’s have shared at Royal Oak and a chance to wish them well as they head to high school. It is open to all Grade 8 students (please note: dress will be summer casual - any colour welcome). 

The Grade 8 Farewell is MONDAY, JUNE 24th at 6:00pm in the ROMS gym. TICKETS: $15.00
