France Trip 2020: All grade 7 students going to France next year, meet in Mme Ryan's room at lunch activity time today at 1:16 - this is a mandatory meeting. 


Freezie Treats: Cool off from the summer heat and buy a freezie today at lunch activity time, outside the multi-purpose room for $1.50 each. 

Gaga Ball Courts: On the courts today is Grade 8’s, tomorrow is Grade 6’s.


Grade 8 Farewell

There are TWO more chances to buy your tickets:

THURSDAY, JUNE 20 (lunch activity time)

FRIDAY, JUNE 21 (lunch activity time)

NOTE: You cannot buy tickets at the door.

Lost & Found: Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity on Friday, June 21st.


Classroom Cleaning:
Please take both, garbage and recycling, out to the big green bins this week to prevent the bins from being filled to capacity on the last week of school.  


Recycling:
The Hallway Recycle Stations will close down this Friday.  All classrooms need to empty their recycle towers and wash them out for the summer.   We ask students to use recyclable containers rather than bring packaging.  All recyclable items will not become garbage.   


Yearbook:
The 2018/2019 Yearbook has officially arrived. Additional copies will be available today at the office.  First come, first serve for $40 cash each.


School Wide Assembly: A reminder that we have a school wide assembly in block 4 today. All students will go to their block 4 class. Teachers will hold students in block 4 until you are called down to the assembly.


Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn on sale tomorrow at first recess. Popcorn $1.50, This will be the final day of sales for popcorn.

Attention: Gr 5 Parents coming into ROMS

Dear Gr 5 Parents,

I would like to invite you to attend our final Royal Oak PAC meeting of the year on Thurs, June 20th from 6-8pm.  Normally our PAC meets at 7pm, but we are going to be available at 6pm to meet with you to answer any questions you may have about the transition to middle school, and to give you a tour of the school.  The PAC exec will also be available to chat about opportunities to get involved  at Royal Oak (in whatever way it works with your schedule).  We hope you'll join us for this special opportunity to connect and learn a more about the school and our wonderful PAC!

Homework Club: ***Last day of Homework club will be Friday, June 21st. Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

In addition to the original three Fridays in June, the Farewell Committee has added an extra day - this Thursday - for you to buy tickets.

The Grade 8 farewell event, called “A Black and White Farewell” will be an evening full of fun, food and friends.  It is a celebration of all the memorable times the Grade 8’s have shared at Royal Oak and a chance to wish them well as they head to high school. It is open to all Grade 8 students (please note: dress will be summer casual - any colour welcome). 

The Grade 8 Farewell is MONDAY, JUNE 24th at 6:00pm in the ROMS gym. TICKETS: $15.00
