Congratulations to the band students who participated in the Whistler Con Brio Music Festival this weekend for their excellent showing and representation for our school.  Be sure to ask these students about their trip!

Band sectionals:

All grade 6 trombone players have sectionals tomorrow.

Ga Ga Ball Courts:
Today on the courts will be grade 6s. Tomorrow will be grade 7’s.

Royal Oak Musical Theatre Workshop: Grades 6, 7 and 8 interested in musical theatre.  There will be four sessions on Wednesdays, May 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 3:20 - 4:50 pm.  Claremont students from the Claremont Focus on Fine Arts Program will be working with our students.  Registration forms available outside the office.

Popcorn: On sale today at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.

Canteen Tuesday: On sale at first recess tomorrow will be pizza bread, cookies & iced tea.

Pizza & Pellegrino Day: This Thursday is Pizza and Pellegrino Day at ROMS! Four flavours of Pellegrino will be available for $2 a can!


Badminton: The badminton City Finals are after school at SMUS today. All badminton team member who qualified for today's play must attend an important meeting with Mr. Menzies in the PE office at FIRST recess. Good luck today Eagles!

Girls Field hockey:
Reminder to all field hockey players that there is NO practice tomorrow morning.  Please let Ms. Fuller or Ms. Wheatley know how you are getting to UVic on Thursday.

Track & Field:

The first track and field meet is this week on Thursday May 9th. Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday morning and all team members are expected to attend or contact Mr. Menzies.

2019-20 Registration is ongoing for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.  Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.

Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February).   An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including  new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.

Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.

Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.
