Chill Zone: Today during outdoor activity time Chill Zone will be meeting in room 125. Please meet Ms. Campbell there if you are interested in attending today's session. 


Ga Ga Ball Courts:
Today on the courts will be grade 6s. Monday will be grade 8’s.


From the Learning Commons - have you got a library book in your locker that you're finished with? Return it by lunchtime on Tuesday, and you can enter to be one of 25 winners of the Mystery Spot contest!

Talent Show:

Due to lack of performers, the talent show will not be held this year.  Let's try next year ROMS!


Ultimate Frisbee: Anyone interested in playing ultimate frisbee every Thursday and or Friday please sign up outside room 221 today. Any questions talk to Ms. Gavrilko.

Pizza Day – Classes will be called in the following order: Raven hallway, Thunderbird, Wolf and then Orca hallway Helpers: Div 6-3 Ms. Fuller


ROMS SPORTS:

Athletic Leadership:
Reminder to members of Athletic Leadership of our meeting today during advisory. Please bring your lunch to the gym after block 3.


Badminton:
The badminton City Championships is next week. All badminton players who have played in the qualifying tournaments MUST attend a meeting at FIRST recess today in the gym.
Team rosters will be announced at the meeting so be sure to attend.


Rugby: Congratulations to all of our rugby team on their performances this week! All teams did a great job representing Royal Oak and are having fun. Go Eagles!

Track & Field:  The first track and field meet is on Thursday May 9th. Sign up for all events happens at practice. So be there!


Triple Jump:
Attention all students who are interested in participating in Triple Jump this year. Please meet Ms. Wheatley at "The Pit" during Lunch Recess today. First timers are most welcome!


ROMS PARENT REVIEW:

Student Learning Survey for Grade 7 students and parents, please refer to our main web page https://royaloak.sd63.bc.ca for more information.


2019-20 Registration is ongoing for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.  Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.

Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February).   An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including  new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.

Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.



Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

Hello, and Welcome to Royal Oak PAC!!

 

PAC Executive team is in need of help, volunteers like you make a big difference to our students, and there are so many ways to be a part of your child’s school, volunteering is flexible and allows you to participate as it fits into your schedule. If you’re not sure of a time commitment or what the job includes, please contact the PAC.

Dear Royal Oak Families,

 

On behalf of your 2018/19 Royal Oak Middle School PAC Executives, we would like to thank you all for giving us the opportunity to represent you this school year.  

 

As the school year is coming to an end we would like to announce that there are allot of PAC executives that will be leaving Royal Oak Middle School and executive’s positions become available.  This year we estimate receiving $20.00 per student in gaming funds, these funds can be used for classroom funds, swimming programs, sports programs, math manipulative, Reading program, and many clubs that are held at Royal Oak for our students.  Without PAC Executives, we lose these funds.

 

Every parent is a member of the PAC and I encourage you all to come out and get involved.  New ideas are always welcome and there are all kinds of ways you can help support ROMS.

 

Every position except two in PAC is vacant.  Please email romsparents@gmail.com to nominate a friend, parent/guardian or yourself to hold a position for the 2019/2020 school year.

May is (AGM) meeting where new executive members are sworn in to the PAC executive team, please come out and support PAC as the school needs executive members on board to receive grant funding from the government.
