Band Sectionals: All grade 6 trumpet players have sectionals today.
All grade 6 trombone players have sectionals tomorrow.
Jazz Band: There will be jazz band rehearsals on Thursday and Friday.
Reminder to students, that on Friday, the Claremont PEP team will be in Rm 215 for a light breakfast and games at 7:45. There is only room for 15 students.
There will also be a rehearsal tomorrow at 1:16 in the band room.
Drawing Club: Please see Ms. Kardash In Room 123 if you are interested in joining a Drawing Club Thursdays at Lunch starting tomorrow.
Ga Ball Courts:
It’s Grade 7’s on the courts today! tomorrow it will be Grade 8’s.
Judo Club: Judo Club members please get your completed permission forms to Mr. Mollard for Friday's outing. If you don't have a form see Mr. Mollard today.
From the Learning Commons - the Mystery Spot contest is going gangbusters! We're seeing the spots fill up steadily. Don't miss your chance to enter, every time you return a library book (sorry, this contest isn't open to graphic novels).
Youth In Action: A reminder for all Youth in Action students to ensure that their We Create Change Cup is decorated and delivered to the correct homeroom class.
Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.
Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess tomorrow - chicken wings, cookies & ice tea.
Badminton: Students who have entered the qualifying tournaments are reminded that they must attend qualifying practices to play their matches. Not showing results in a forfeit of match play if players have not notified Mr. Menzies of their absence before the practice.
Girls Fieldhockey: Reminder that our next practice is Tuesday morning at 8 am. Please bring your shin guards and mouth guards. We will scrimmage.
Gr 8 Intra Murals: Grade 8 intra-murals this week is drop-in badminton for any students in divisions 8-1, 8-2, 8-3 and 8-4.
A reminder that Scrumfest is tomorrow at Claremont.
6/7 Boys Rugby:
There will be a meeting today at FIRST recess for all players for the 6/7 boys rugby teams. Please go to the Tech Ed room to meet with Mr. Reston after block 2 today.
ROMS PARENT REVIEW:
The parent information session for the Me to We Kenya Service Learning trip is this Thursday at 5pm in Miss Cottier's classroom- room 222. Please note that this trip is now scheduled for July of 2021 instead of July of 2020.
2019-20 Registration is ongoing for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province. Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.
Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February). An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.
Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.
Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

Hello, and Welcome to Royal Oak PAC!!
PAC Executive team is in need of help, volunteers like you make a big difference to our students, and there are so many ways to be a part of your child’s school, volunteering is flexible and allows you to participate as it fits into your schedule. If you’re not sure of a time commitment or what the job includes, please contact the PAC.

Dear Royal Oak Families,
On behalf of your 2018/19 Royal Oak Middle School PAC Executives, we would like to thank you all for giving us the opportunity to represent you this school year.
As the school year is coming to an end we would like to announce that there are allot of PAC executives that will be leaving Royal Oak Middle School and executive’s positions become available. This year we estimate receiving $20.00 per student in gaming funds, these funds can be used for classroom funds, swimming programs, sports programs, math manipulative, Reading program, and many clubs that are held at Royal Oak for our students. Without PAC Executives, we lose these funds.
Every parent is a member of the PAC and I encourage you all to come out and get involved. New ideas are always welcome and there are all kinds of ways you can help support ROMS.
Every position except two in PAC is vacant. Please email email@example.com to nominate a friend, parent/guardian or yourself to hold a position for the 2019/2020 school year.
