Band Sectionals: All grade 6 bass players have sectionals today.


Choir Practice: There will be a choir practice on Wednesday and Friday at 1:16 pm in the band room.


France Trip 2019:
France Trip 2019 meeting today at 1:16 in Mrs. Ryan's room.


Friday Breakfast with Claremont PEP:
Reminder to students, that for the next 4 Fridays, the Claremont PEP team will be in Rm 215 for a light breakfast and games at 7:45.  There is only room for 15 students. 


Ga Ga Ball Courts:
Our new Ga Ga ball courts are now installed.  To handle the demand to start with, we will be running a usage schedule.  The schedule will start with grade
7's today, grade 8's on Wednesday, and grade 6’s on Thursday. The rules and schedule are posted on the Ga Ga ball court walls. 


Garden Group:
The Gardening Group will not be meeting today.  We will be going out on Wednesday following the Extreme Team Meeting.


Girls Group:
Girls in rotation 2 will meet at the Blue Conference at Advisory today. We walk to Brydon Park for a picnic and play some games. Please bring your lunch and be ready to go out. 


From the Learning Commons: Ms. Lindsay is starting a new reading contest, called Mystery Spot. When you return a book, enter the contest - it's so simple! Details on the display board just inside the entrance. Come check it out!


Me To We – Kenya Service Learning Trip:
A reminder that the parent information meeting for the Me to We Kenya Service Learning Trip scheduled for July 2020 is Thursday, April 11th at 5pm in Miss Cottier's room.  This trip is open to students finishing Grade 8, 9, 10, and 11 at the time of travel. 


Science Challengers:
There will be a design and build challenge today at lunch in room 230


Canteen Tuesday: There will be no canteen sales at recess today.


Popcorn: On sale at first recess tomorrow at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.



ROMS SPORTS:



Badminton: There will be a mandatory meeting for all students who want to sign up to play this season, and who want to enter the City Championships qualifying tournaments. Please come to the gym after advisory today to get further information and to sign up.

Field hockey: All girls interested in playing field hockey for Royal Oak this year.  Please meet with Ms. Fuller today - FIRST RECESS in her classroom - Room 124 on the Green Floor.


Gr 8 Intra Murals:
Reminder to 8-3, 8-4 and 8-6 of their intra-mural dodge ball championship Wednesday at lunch. The Cup is on the line. 


Rugby:
A reminder that the UVIC Rugby clinic is this Thursday April 4th. Permission forms can be found on the ROMS Athletics website. Please see Mr. Reston if you are interested in attending.

Student Learning Survey for Grade 7 students and parents, please refer to our main webpage for more information.


2019-20 Registration is ongoing for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.  Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.

Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February).   An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including  new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.

Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.


Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.
