Eagles Club: Eagles Club meets on Wed in block 3 in the Learning Commons. We welcome a special guest Elder May Sam to work with us this week.

Pink Shirt Day Buttons: There will be a table set up outside the MPR for all students to make buttons for Pink Shirt Day at Lunch Recess. Come and make a button or two!!!

The National Math League Contest results are in! Congratulations to the following top achievements for Royal Oak. The top 3 finishers in Grade 8 were Alex F., Bill D, and Maren D. The top 3 finishers in Grade 7 were Carmen E, Tharun V, and Pamela P. And the top 3 finishers for Grade 6 were Avi D, Arian J, and Fiona S. Please come see Miss Cottier today for your certificate and prize!
PE Classes: Mr. Hilleren, Ms. Labelle, Mr. Menzies and Mr. Bergeron’s block 1 PE classes are to come to the gym at the beginning of block 1, don’t get changed, bring a pen or pencil and coloured pencil crayons as we will be doing an activity.
Due to low numbers of performances, the Royal Oak Talent Show will be postponed until April 26th. This will give plenty of time for you all to tighten your performing talents. Come on Royal Oak, show us your talent! I'm sure if enough students sign up, Mr. Bergeron and other staff members will share their talents, too.
The next Youth in Action meeting is Thursday at 11:23am in Miss Cottier's room.
Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.
Canteen Thursday: On sale at first recess tomorrow will be sliders, cookies and hot chocolate.

Notice to divisions 8-1, 8-2, 8-3 and 8-9 of their intra-mural dodgeball playoff games today at lunch.
All grade 7/8 girls teams are playing today, 6 teams, so players are reminded to check in with their coach about game details today.
Mr Hilleren's Girl's team black will have a mandatory meeting in room 229 at second recess today right after advisory.
Mr. Ravenhill's volleyball team will have a brief meeting today during lunch recess in the PE office.

Claremont Counsellor Appointments
Gr 8 Parents wishing to meet with a Claremont Counsellor with questions and concerns regarding academic pathways, course selection and class placement may book an appointment to meet with a Claremont Counsellor on February 28 & March 1 between 9:00 am and noon. 2019-20 Registration began on February 4th at 8:00 am for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province. Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.
Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February). An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.
Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.
Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

Thrifty Smile Cards: All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help with PAC Fund raising. If your family is not intending to use it, please return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school office. In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else.
