Eagles Club: Eagles Club meets on Wed in block 3 in the Learning Commons. We welcome a special guest Elder May Sam to work with us this week.

Math Contest: Royal Oak is hosting the National Math League Contest on Tuesday in the Learning Commons! Grade 8's will write in Block 1, Grade 7 in Block 2, and Grade 6 in Block 3. No sign up required! All interest students can compete! Please bring a calculator and a pencil. There will be prizes for the top three students in each grade. Miss Cottier will announce the results by Friday!
Pink Shirt Day: A reminder to all students and staff that tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day. Please wear pink in support of this anti-bullying day!

Claremont Counsellor Appointments
Gr 8 Parents wishing to meet with a Claremont Counsellor with questions and concerns regarding academic pathways, course selection and class placement may book an appointment to meet with a Claremont Counsellor on February 28 & March 1 between 9:00 am and noon. Appointments will be held at Royal Oak Middle School and can be scheduled by contacting Donna Punt at 250-479-7128 Extension 452 or emailing your request for an appointment to email@example.com Please ensure that you provide your student's name & Division your name and contact information. 2019-20 Registration began on February 4th at 8:00 am for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province. Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.
Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February). An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.
Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.
Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

Thrifty Smile Cards: All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help with PAC Fund raising. If your family is not intending to use it, please return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school office. In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would like a card, please contact email@example.com.
