All grade 6 saxophonists have sectionals today at 1pm in the band room.

Boys Group: A reminder that Boys' Group meet today, we will be fort building in the snow! Meet Mr. Baer at the Beginning of Advisory in the Blue Conference Room.
ROMS Hoodies: The order form deadline for ROMS hoodies has been extended until next Thursday Feb 21st. Order forms can be found on the ROMS Athletics website and at the PE office. Also, hoodie samples sizes can also be tried on at the PE office. Please talk to Mr. Menzies if you have any questions.
Drama Club meets today at 1:16 in the Drama Room. An important rehearsal so please attend!
From the Learning Commons - before the break, Ms. Lindsay was offering Hershey Kisses to students who brought their picture ID with them when signing out a book. She's now continuing it until the end of the month, or until the kisses run out, whichever comes first.
The next math challengers meeting is today in Miss Cottier's room at 1:16. Please bring your practice booklets, permission forms, and a calculator! The competition is just one week away!
Paper Recycling Today:
Just a reminder that it is paper recycling day today. Please make sure that you send a student down with your recycling to the bins at the beginning of Advisory.

Science Challenge: The Science Challengers information session has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, February 19. Students from all grades are welcome.
A reminder that ROMS yearbooks are available for pre-order for now until April 16th. Order forms are available from Miss Cottier, outside the front office, or from Miss Cottier's website. Grade 8 students have until March 15th to send a digital baby photo to email@example.com.
There is an important Youth in Action meeting this today at 11:23am in Miss Cottier's room. A reminder that are Rafiki Campaign continues today and 15 beautiful beaded bracelets are left at $10 each.
Reminder to all members of Athletic Leadership of your meeting today during advisory as tomorrow is a Pro-D day. Please bring your lunch to the gym after block 3.
Volleyball games and practice are going ahead today as per usual. Mr. Hastings 6/7 boys competitive team is scheduled to play at Central. Players will be notified if there is any change to this throughout the day.
There will be a general meeting for all grade 6/7 boys volleyball players today at FIRST recess in the gym to discuss today's games. All members of Mr. Hastings and Mr. Ravenhill's team MUST attend as Mr. Menzies will have updates on your games today.
Practicing at SECOND recess today is Mrs. Gill's and Mrs. Blaikie's grade 6/7 girls recreational team.
6/7 Boys Rec:
A reminder to Mr. Ravenhill's Grade 6/7 boys rec team that we have a game at North Saanich today and a practice at lunch recess. All players must be at the practice to arrange rides to the game.

2019-20 Registration began on February 4th at 8:00 am for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province. Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.
Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February). An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.
Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.
Band Registration: Mr. Bridgman will be handing out band registration forms to all current grade 6 and 7 band students. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 1st.
Handbags for Hope: There is a drop off donation bin in the main foyer of the school. Please consider donating new and gently used handbags, scarves and jewelry. Handbags for Hope fund raiser supporting BC Children’s Hospital is hosting an event on Friday, Feb 22nd at the Fairmont Empress.
Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

Thrifty Smile Cards: All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help with PAC Fund raising. If your family is not intending to use it, please return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school office. In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would like a card, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
