Chill zone: Today during outdoor activity time Chill Zone will be meeting in room 125. Please meet Ms. Campbell there if you are interested in attending today's session.
The choir will practice today at 1:16 in the band room. We are preparing to sing at the upcoming Compassion assembly in a few weeks so make sure you attend.
From the Learning Commons - do you need a new binder? The LC is giving away small and medium binders - yes, that's right, free, gratis, no charge! Talk to Ms. Lindsay or Ms. Gaudet.

order. Samples sizes to try on and order forms can be found at the PE
office and order forms can also be found on the ROMS Athletics
website. Order forms are due by Thursday Feb 14th so don't delay!
Acts of Kindness:
Just a reminder to everyone that next week is our ROMS Random Acts of Kindness week! Don't forget to take some time in advisory to talk about what your class will do for the class that you are going to show kindness to. Next week is a short week as Friday is a pro-d day so make sure you plan something for Mon-Thurs.
Do you like Science. Are you interested in studying material that is beyond the curriculum? Would you be willing to represent ROMS at a competition at UVIC? If so, please come to a Science Challengers information session in room 230 on Tuesday, February 12 at lunch recess. All grades welcome.

Congratulations to all of our volleyball teams on their games played this week. All teams did a great job representing ROMS around the city and had lots of fun! Great job Eagles!
Practicing at SECOND recess today are the grade 6/7 boys competitive team, and Mr. Sparanese's grade 7 girls competitive team. Practicing after school are all grade 8 girls teams.

2019-20 Registration began on February 4th at 8:00 am for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province. Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.
Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February). An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.
Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.
Band Registration: Mr. Bridgman will be handing out band registration forms to all current grade 6 and 7 band students. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 1st.
Handbags for Hope: There is a drop off donation bin in the main foyer of the school. Please consider donating new and gently used handbags, scarves and jewelry. Handbags for Hope fund raiser supporting BC Children’s Hospital is hosting an event on Friday, Feb 22nd at the Fairmont Empress.
Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

Thrifty Smile Cards: All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help with PAC Fund raising. If your family is not intending to use it, please return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school office. In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would like a card, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
