From the Learning Commons - Ms. Lindsay is away today. Ms. Pelz is in for her, but she can not sign out books to students, so please either see Ms. Gaudet or use the sign-out sheet.
Math Challengers: What did the Zero say to the Eight.....Nice Belt! The next math challengers meeting is this Thursday at 1:16 in Miss Cottier's room. It is important for all those interested in competing at Camosun on Friday, February 22nd to attend to ensure that you get signed up.
Youth In Action: Rafiki bracelets go on sale this Thursday during advisory at the front of the school! Get your beautiful beaded bracelet to support both Kenya and our village initiative in Haiti for just $10! The next Youth in Action meeting is this Thursday at 11:23 in Miss Cottier's room.
Canteen Tuesday: On sale at first recess in the canteen today will be pizza bread, cookies & hot chocolate.
Popcorn: On sale tomorrow at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.
Game 3 of the green floor vs blue floor dungeon ball series takes place today at SECOND recess. Mr. Menzies will be around to notify classes who are scheduled to represent their floor in the game today. The green floor has a 2-0 lead in the series so let's see if the blue floor can start their come back today!
This week's practice schedule for all teams can be found on the ROMS Athletics website and on the PE office doors. Please have a look to see when you are practicing. Game schedules for all teams can be found at lowerislandschoolsports.ca. Volleyball players and parents are asked to have transportation to away games arranged and all SD63 transportation requirements completed in order to drive additional players to away games.

ROMS PARENT REVIEW:
2019-20 Registration began on February 4th at 8:00 am for new registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province. Registration packages are available on-line or at the School Office.
Please note that we will not be hosting an Open House this year (previously held in February). An information evening will be held later in May for all confirmed incoming Grade 5 students including new (grade 6/7/8) registrations coming from Out of District, Out of Catchment, Private Schools or Out of Province.
Returning ROMS students do not have to complete a registration form. Grade 8 students transitioning to Claremont for Grade 9 in September do not have to complete a registration form for Claremont.
Band Registration: Mr. Bridgman will be handing out band registration forms to all current grade 6 and 7 band students. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 1st.
Handbags for Hope: There is a drop off donation bin in the main foyer of the school. Please consider donating new and gently used handbags, scarves and jewelry. Handbags for Hope fund raiser supporting BC Children’s Hospital is hosting an event on Friday, Feb 22nd at the Fairmont Empress.
Homework Club: Extra academic support is available to students through the homework club. This is a drop in service that will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings from 8-9 am in the Learning Commons, and Tuesday afternoon in Room 215 from 3:10-4:10 pm.

Thrifty Smile Cards: All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help with PAC Fund raising. If your family is not intending to use it, please return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school office. In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would like a card, please contact email@example.com.
