Mrs. MacEwan our new school Principal for September will be visiting ROMS today. Please welcome her and say “hi” if you see her in the hallways!!
Band Sectionals: All grade 6 trombone, baritone and bass players have sectionals tomorrow during advisory in the band room.
Conversation and Activities Club: Please join us for Conversations Club today in Room 227. Meet new friends, learn about other cultures, and practice your English. All students are welcome. Please see Ms. Beristain in room 219 for more information.
Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.

Leadership:
There will be a meeting for all members of Athletic Leadership today during advisory. Please bring your lunch to the gym after block 3.
Track
and Field:
This Wednesday is the track and field City Finals at UVIC.
This is an all day event and is the last athletics event of the year.
Mr. Sparanese and Mr. Menzies will be holding a mandatory
practice
Tuesday morning
to
ready
all of our athletes and to
discuss event details with our team and to have students confirm
which events they are competing in. All attending students must be
able to tell Mr. Menzies how they are getting to UVIC and home at
tomorrow's meeting. Please go to lowerislandschoolsports.ca for all
track and field details.
Volleyball:
Congratulations
to all of the ROMS students who participate in the beach volleyball
tournament up in Parksville over the weekend! All teams from Royal
Oak had strong performances, and Jilliana W. and Sophie d. took 1st
place for their division in the tournament. Great job girls!

ROMS PARENT REVIEW:
Pride
Parade:
The Saanich
School District is putting together a group to walk in this year's
pride parade. We would like to include as many teachers, students and
families as possible! We would be walking with a SD63 banner and
promoting diversity and inclusiveness in our schools.
If
you and your family are interested in walking in the pride parade,
please let us know so we can start getting numbers together . There
is no cost, we will simply meet that morning then have a great time
walking together! We will also give out a T-shirt with the district
logo for you to wear.

Grade 8 Farewell
Preparations
are underway for a party for our grade 8 students on Monday, June
25th from
6-9 pm. It will be an evening for celebration of the memorable
times they have shared at Royal Oak and to wish them success as they
head to high school.
In
order for the Grade 8 Farewell Event to be successful we are asking
Grade 8 parents, for help by donating an hour or so of your time;

Today is Monday, June 4th and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS. Our weather calls for sunny skies with some cloud cover today and a high of 16 degrees.
The end of the school year is getting super close!! We are now in our final month of the year! Keep working hard and do not slow down until June 28th
Recycling! Keep up the efforts with the recycling! The less you throw in the garbage, the less that goes into our landfill!
The best practice is to bring reusable containers to school!
