Spring Fair BBQ – The ROMS PAC Spring Fair and BBQ is on Friday from 3:15-6:00 pm Come join in the fun. Games2U will be there with hampster ball party, obstacle course challenge, bumper soccer, bouncy house party, bungee joust and inflatable slide….Big News on the Dunk Tank…..Mrs. Gill and Ms. Noel have joined in on the fun…...Do you think you can dunk them?   See attached photo of raffle baskets!!!


Band Sectionals:

All grade 6 saxophonists have sectionals today during advisory in the band room

There will be a jazz band rehearsal on today during advisory in the band room.


Band Concert: The year end outdoor band concert and BBQ will take place on Tuesday, May 29.  BBQ starts at 6pm and the concert starts at 7pm.


Early Dismissal: A Reminder to students and staff that today is an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 2:00 pm.


Craft Club: Today at 12:00 pm in the Art Room. See Ms. Ozi for details.



Boys Group: A reminder that Boys' Group meet today at the Beginning of Advisory in the Blue Conference Room.



Paper Recycling Today:

Just a reminder that it is paper recycling day today. Please make sure that you send a student down with your recycling to the bins at the beginning of Advisory.


ROMS TV News:
Next week we'll welcome the team of Livia A. and Lauren R. , both in 6-1 and Victor T., 7-3 as the ROMS crew for the next two weeks. See you folks on Monday at 11 am (block 2).


Canteen Thursday: On sale at the Canteen during first recess today is chicken wings, cookies and iced tea.


Pizza Day tomorrow - $2.50 per slice

Athletic Leadership:
Athletic Leaders are reminded of their meeting today during advisory. Please bring your lunch to the gym after block 3.


Field Hockey:
Attention all Field Hockey players!  Please bring a topping of your choice
tomorrow to Ms. Fuller's classroom at SECOND RECESS for our season ending Sundae celebration.


Track and Field:
Congratulations to the ROMS track and field team on their performance at yesterday's meet. Royal Oak had some great performances and tried their best. The next track meet is this coming Monday, again at Uvic, and includes the 2000m final, and relay qualifying races, and the City Finals are an all day event on June 6th. Mr. Menzies and Mr. Sparanese will be holding meetings soon to discuss the City Finals. Please go to lowerislandschoolsports.ca for all track and field meet details, including event results. Next week's practices schedule will be posted on the ROMS Athletics web page by tomorrow.

**ROMS PAC NEWS**

Hello ROMS Families:

The students and families have spoken, and we have listened! We have changed the time of our spring fair.

 

The ROMS Spring Fair will be held on FridayMay 25th from 3:15 - 6:00 pm.
Please join us for a fun afternoon including Games 2 U, BBQ, Raffle, Door prizes and dunk your favourite teacher.  Parents, please come enjoy the outdoors, browse the raffle table, have a snack, dunk your favourite teacher or check out the Games2U.  Bring the whole family!

We will be serving burgers, hot dogs, salad, chips, cold drinks, candy bags , freezies and ice cream. 

See you All on Friday after school.

Today is Thursday,  May 24 and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS. Our weather calls for mostly sunshine and some clouds today and a high of 18 degrees.  

The end of the school year is in sight!  Keep working hard and keep the academic focus

When you bring packaging out with us for snacks.  You know what to do with your packaging!

Reminders:

The Spring Fling fair is Tomorrow.  This is a family event. Be sure you come out and bring your friends..  It starts at 3:15 pm and ends at 6 pm. Games 2 U will be here with their many amazing  games. The Dunk tank is back! Yes be sure to come out and dunk Mr Goy, Ms Noel, Mr Ball and the many other teachers!

 

Be sure to  invite you family and friends to the Big RO first ever Spring Fling!   The PAC will be serving the best hamburgers in Victoria.

 

The early closure is today for teachers to connect with parents and students that have academic or other concerns.  Teachers will contact parents that they need to see.
