Band Sectionals: All grade 6 flute and clarinet players have sectionals on Thursday, May 10 during advisory in the band room.

Chill Zone:
A reminder that Chill Zone meets every Friday in room 225 during outdoor activity. If interested come see Ms. Campbell. Last Chill Zone session is on May 25th. 

Eagles Club:
All Eagles club members have an important meeting today in block 2 in Rm 215 to plan.  Remember to bring your permission forms for the Elders tea.

Science Challengers:
Please meet in front of the office after morning homeroom this morning so we that can send you off to Uvic for our competition.

Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.

Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess tomorrow -chocolate chip cookies, mac & cheese & ice tea.


Athletic Leadership:
There will be an additional meeting for Athletic Leadership members on the Survivor ROMS committee today a during advisory in the gym. Please bring your lunch and help remind fellow members.

Field Hockey: This  is a reminder to all field hockey players that there is NO practice this week as there is a staff meeting.  Players are reminded that they must check in with Ms. Fuller at First Recess on Wednesday to confirm how they are traveling to and from UVic for our games on Thursday.

Grade 8 Intra Murals:
Notice to all grade 8's of drop-in badminton intra-murals today at lunch. See you in the gym with your gym strip.

Today the grade 6/7 boys and girls rugby team are playing games after school. There will be a meeting for all players on the 6/7 boys team and all players on the girl's rugby team at FIRST recess in the gym. All players must attend as we will be discussing the upcoming season-ending tournaments.

Track and Field:
The first track and field meeting of the year is tomorrow after school at UVIC's Centennial Stadium. There will be a mandatory meeting for all students on the track and field team tomorrow morning at practice to discuss the upcoming track meets. Also, there has been an additional practice added on Friday morning at 8:15 for all students signed up or interested in the 100m and relay team events. Track meet #2 is next Monday May 14th after school. Please go to lowerislandschoolsports.ca and the ROMS Athletics webpage for all track and field details.

 Elections will be held at the May, PAC Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 17th at 6:30 PM in the Learning Commons. You must attend in person to vote (no proxy voting) and Nominations may be received at the meeting, voting will be by secret ballot.

Today is Wednesday, May 9 and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS. Our weather calls for sunshine, some clouds with a high of 16 degrees.  


The Gr 8 students went to Claremont yesterday for their tour and student orientation. Claremont reported that the RO students were an excellent group to have and are very excited for next year.

Great Badminton participation at Royal Oak this year.  Our players performed very well at the city finals on Monday.
