Band registration forms for 2018/19 are due by tomorrow, see Mr. Bridgman for more details.

Band Sectionals: All grade 6 Trombone, Baritone and Bass players have sectionals on Tuesday, May 1 during advisory in the band room.

Conversation and Activities Club: Please join us for Conversations Club today in Room 227. Meet new friends, learn about other cultures, and practice your English. All students are welcome. Please see Ms. Beristain in room 219 for more information.

ROMS TV News: ROMS TV - Ms. Lindsay will be looking for Cohen W., M-8, Liam T., M-3 and Victor T., 7-3 to come to the LC at 11 a.m., block 2, for their first shift together. If you're in PE or FAAS, guys, keep an eye on the clock!

Youth In Action: There is a Youth in Action meeting in Thursday in Miss Cottier's room at 11:23am for some We Movement Trivia!

Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.


There will be a very important meeting today at SECOND recess for all badminton players who qualified to play in this week's City Playoffs at SMUS. Players are reminded to bring their permission forms to MR. Menzies today if they expect to play. Grade 6's play after school today to SMUS so good luck to all of our singles players and doubles teams participating today! Go Eagles!

Girls Field Hockey: Attention all Field Hockey Players!  Field Hockey Practice is Cancelled for this Tuesday!  There will be NO practice this week.  Remember you must check in with Ms. Wheatley on Wednesday at FIRST RECESS to say how you are getting to the games at UVic.  If you don't check in, you will NOT be going up to UVic.


Grade 67 Boys:
Reminder to the grade 6/7 boys rugby team, and the girls rugby team of your practices after school today.

Track and Field:

This week's track and field practice schedule has now been posted on the ROMS Athletics webpage. Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15 for running, throwing, and long jump, and High Jump practice will be Wednesday morning at 8:15. Sign up for events will happen Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Please go to lowerislandschoolsports.ca and the ROMS Athletics web page for further details.



Travino Lane: Please avoid going through the Travino Lane development when dropping your son/daughter off at school. This is a private road.

Art Room Request for Magazines: ROMS families.......Please consider donating your used magazines to the art room. We are in NEED for sports, food, fashion, travel, lifestyle, surf, boating, clothing/shoes....currently we are low in all categories. Just drop them off to the art room! Non Instructional Day: The school will be closed on Friday, May 4, 2018.

Today is Thursday, April 30, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  Our weather calls for cloudy skies, with some sunshine and a high of 11 degrees.  

Grade 8 Students:  Reminder to get your Claremont course selection verification forms have now been sent to Claremont.  If you still have a change, it is up to you to get it to Claremont.

It is the PAC staff lunch today.  We are asking all students to move outside during the lunch activity time so that the staff can enjoy their lunch put on by the parents.


Ask Mr. Bergeron who’s birthday it is today!

Track and field is well underway, all athletes need to listen carefully for announcements as to when events and practices are.


Badminton playoffs are this week.  Check with Mr. M to see if you are in the finals.


Reminder, there is no kicking a soccer in the front area of the school as this is a entrance way for the public.   


If you borrow an object from a friend or teacher, always return it.


Did you tell you parents one thing you learned about vaping from Friday’s assembly.


Recycling:  Coffee cups with plastic lids need to be separated.  The lids go in the hard plastic and the cups go in paper recycling.
