Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am


Band Sectionals: All grade 6 trumpet players have sectionals today during advisory in the band room.

Grade 6 and 7 band students please return your permission forms for the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival as soon as possible.  All grade 6 band students have a combined rehearsal at 8am tomorrow.


Jazz Band: There will be a jazz band rehearsal on Thursday at 1:15pm in the band room.


Boys Group: A reminder that Boys' Group meet today at the Beginning of Advisory in the Blue Conference Room.


Craft Club: Today at 1:15 in the Art Room. See Ms. Ozi for details.


Dance Club:
A reminder to dance club members of your important rehearsal tomorrow at 116. Please return your field trip to Claremont permission forms as soon as possible.


Jersey Day Today: Thank you Royal Oak for wearing your jerseys today In honour of the Humboldt Broncos team, their families, friends and the local Communities.


Lego Club:
Come and build every Thursday at lunch activity in Ms. Campbell's room, 131.


Paper Recycling Today:

Just a reminder that it is paper recycling day today. Please make sure that you send a student down with your recycling to the bins at the beginning of Advisory.


Science Challengers:
There is a study meeting for Science Challengers on Friday at lunch recess in Mr Azim's room.  Please remember to bring your booklets.


Yearbook:
This Friday is the last and final day to submit your Yearbook order to Miss Cottier! Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime memorable book! Order forms available from Miss Cottier and on her homework website.  No late orders will be accepted.


Pizza Day tomorrow - $2.50 per slice Div 6-4 will be the helpers.

ROMS SPORTS:

Badminton:
Congratulations to the students who represented ROMS in our first badminton jamboree of the season vs Monterrey and Shoreline last night. Our team did a great job and play some great matches. The badminton practice schedule is posted on the ROMS athletic web page. Please have a look to see when specific grades are practicing and when open practices are. Practicing today at lunch recess are grade 7's, and there is an open practice after school.


Rugby:
Congratulations to all rugby team on their play yesterday. All players did a great job representing ROMS in the first games of the season. Both the grade 6/7 boys team and the girls team practice next Monday April 16 after school. 


Gr 8 Rugby: Best of luck to the Gr 8 boys rugby team participating in the Claremont Scrum-fest today

Art Room Request for Magazines: ROMS families.......Please consider donating your used magazines to the art room. We are in NEED for sports, food, fashion, travel, lifestyle, surf, boating, clothing/shoes....currently we are low in all categories. Just drop them off to the art room! Class placement Interviews 2018/19 school year: April 10, 11 & 12 between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm

*** On-line booking began as of April 4th at 8:00 am

If Parents wish to provide input, you will be given an opportunity to book an appointment with an Admin Counsellor to discuss their student's class placement for 2018/19. Please note that each appointment will be 10 minutes in duration. We ask that you come prepared to discuss your student's academic strengths and areas of concern. You are not permitted to request a specific teacher or classroom. If you prefer, an email to Carly Hunter chunter@sd64.bc.ca would be sufficient.

Non Instructional Day: The school will be closed on Friday, April 20th for a Non Instructional Day.

Today is Thursday, April 12, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  Our weather calls for sun and cloudy skies and a high of 10 degrees.    

 

Come Sunday, we will be half way through the month of April  Term 3 is quickly flying by. Keep up your efforts in your final term!  

Great efforts and fun with the Grade 8 Mac Attack yesterday in the gym.  Big thank you to Mr. S for organizing this intramural event.

The “We are Silent” day went very well yesterday.  Big thank you to all who participated to raise money for the cause.   

Today is Jersey Day in honor of the Humbolt Broncos Hockey Team.  We are wearing our sport Jersey or green shirt in honour and in respect of the lives that were lost in the bus accident last Friday.
