Band 6-1: The band 6-1 class will meet today during block 2.

Band Sectionals:

All grade 6 Bass Guitar, Trombone and Baritone players have sectionals during advisory in the band room today.

All grade 6 trumpet players have sectionals during advisory in the band room on Thursday,.

There will be a jazz band rehearsal on Thursday at 1:15pm in the band room.

Grade 6 and 7 band students please return your permission forms for the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival as soon as possible.  All grade 6 band students have a combined rehearsal at 8am on Thursday and Friday.

Chess Club: Chess Club:
Anyone interested in playing chess is welcome to play every Wednesday at lunch in room 230 (Mr Azim's room).  Students from all grades and skill levels are welcome.  Whether you are a beginner or a competitive chess player, stop in on Wednesday!

Congratulations to Gabby T. in Div 6-5 who won gold in her age group for beam, floor and vault, and 4th in bars at the BC Gymnastics Championships last weekend. Way to go Gabby!

Dance Club:
A reminder to dance club members of your important rehearsal tomorrow at 116. Please return your field trip to Claremont permission forms as soon as possible.

Hockey Tribute:
From the learning commons - Ms. Lindsay has posted a news story on the display just inside the LC's front door with profiles of those who lost their lives in the Saskatchewan bus tragedy. Stop by to read about these young men. Also check out the story about the 'Sticks Out' campaign, that's gone viral worldwide.

Jersey Day Tomorrow: In honour of the Humboldt Broncos team, their families, friends and the local Communities we encourage all students and staff to wear a jersey to school tomorrow. The Broncos are a hockey team, however, any type of jersey would be great!!

ROMS TV - Next week we will be transitioning to a new crew. Would Sam B., M-6 and Cohen W., M-8, please report to the LC at 11 am. (in block 2) to learn or review their jobs. 

We Are Silent:
Take the We Are Silent Pledge today to turn up the volume of those children around the world fighting for their basic human rights!  Challenge yourself with a $5 pledge to be silent from 9am to 3pm.  All funds raised go towards our Ethiopia village initiative.

This Friday is the last and final day to submit your Yearbook order to Miss Cottier! Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime memorable book! Order forms available from Miss Cottier and on her homework website.  No late orders will be accepted.

Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn on sale at the canteen during first recess. Popcorn $1.50,


The badminton practice schedule has been updated on the Athletics web page. Also, there will be an important meeting for all students who are playing in the exhibition jamboree after school, today at SECOND recess in the gym. All players must attend.

Field hockey: There is a very IMPORTANT meeting at FIRST RECESS in Ms. Fuller's Room 124 on the Green Floor, for all field hockey players.  UNFORTUNATELY, practice is canceled today after school.  YOU MUST attend this meeting if you wish to play TOMORROW at UVic.  Please go to Room 124 at FIRST RECESS today!!!

Gr 8 Intra murals: Reminder to all grade 8's of the Mac Attack intra-murals in the gym today at lunch. 

Gr 6/7 Rugby:
Attention all players on the grade 6/7 boys rugby team, and all girls playing rugby this year. There will be a very important meeting for all players today at FIRST recess in the gym to discuss away games today. Please help remind your teammates to attend as Mr. Menzies needs to go over some important details regarding today's game. 

Grade 8 Rugby:
Reminder to the grade 8 boys Eagles rugby team to submit their permission forms to Mr. Stanchfield, practice today.

We are in NEED for sports, food, fashion, travel, lifestyle, surf, boating, clothing/shoes....currently we are low in all categories. Just drop them off to the art room! Class placement Interviews 2018/19 school year: April 10, 11 & 12 between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm

*** On-line booking began as of April 4th at 8:00 am

If Parents wish to provide input, you will be given an opportunity to book an appointment with an Admin Counsellor to discuss their student's class placement for 2018/19. Please note that each appointment will be 10 minutes in duration. We ask that you come prepared to discuss your student's academic strengths and areas of concern. You are not permitted to request a specific teacher or classroom. If you prefer, an email to Carly Hunter chunter@sd64.bc.ca would be sufficient.

Non Instructional Day: The school will be closed on Friday, April 20th for a Non Instructional Day.
