Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am

Band 6-1: The band 6-1 class will meet on Wednesday, Apr. 11 during block 2 this week instead of Tuesday this week.

Band Sectionals:

All grade 6 Bass Guitar, Trombone and Baritone players have sectionals during advisory in the band room tomorrow.

Congratulations to Pyper M. and Ariana S., who competed in the Sea to Sky International Cheer leading Championships in Vancouver over the weekend, placing second in the International Junior 1 Division with their team Riptide. They also have been invited to compete in the Summit International Cheer leading Championships to be held at Disney World in May. Best of luck girls!

Dance Club:
A reminder to dance club members of your important rehearsal this Tuesday and Thursday at 116. Please return your field trip to Claremont permission forms as soon as possible.

Girls Group:

Today , girls in rotation 1 will be making Sock Monkeys! 

Please make sure you bring a pair of socks with you to make your sock monkeys. The best socks to use would be older "lumber jack" (the Grey, red, and white wool ones) socks.

The sock monkeys take a fair bit of time so please bring something you can eat quickly.

We Are Silent:
Take the We Are Silent Pledge tomorrow to turn up the volume of those children around the world fighting for their basic human rights!  Challenge yourself with a $5 pledge to be silent from 9am to 3pm.  All funds raised go towards our Ethiopia village initiative.

Canteen today: On sale at first recess today is falafel, cookies and iced tea.

Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess. Popcorn $1.50,


This week's badminton schedule is now posted on the ROMS Athletics web page. Practices at lunch are grade specific and students who intend to play in the City tournaments must attend these lunchtime practices.

Gr 8 Intra murals: Reminder to all grade 8's of the Mac Attack intra-murals in the gym Wednesday at lunch. 

All players on the grade 6/7 boys rugby team are reminded to hand in your permission forms to Mr. Menzies ahead of your game tomorrow at Glanford. Players are also encouraged to talk to their parents about transportation arrangements to the game and be able to tell Mr. Menzies who is driving them to the game and home tomorrow.

There is still room for any girls interested in playing rugby to join. Yesterday was the first practice and we have two great coaches arranged to work with the team.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Menzies. All girls are welcome!

Grade 8 Rugby:
Reminder to the grade 8 boys Eagles rugby team to submit their permission forms to Mr. Stanchfield, practice tomorrow.



Art Room Request for Magazines: ROMS families.......Please consider donating your used magazines to the art room. We are in NEED for sports, food, fashion, travel, lifestyle, surf, boating, clothing/shoes....currently we are low in all categories. Just drop them off to the art room! Class placement Interviews 2018/19 school year: April 10, 11 & 12 between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm

*** On-line booking began as of April 4th at 8:00 am

If Parents wish to provide input, you will be given an opportunity to book an appointment with an Admin Counsellor to discuss their student's class placement for 2018/19. Please note that each appointment will be 10 minutes in duration. We ask that you come prepared to discuss your student's academic strengths and areas of concern. You are not permitted to request a specific teacher or classroom. If you prefer, an email to Carly Hunter chunter@sd64.bc.ca would be sufficient.

Non Instructional Day: The school will be closed on Friday, April 20th for a Non Instructional Day.
