Welcome back Royal Oak. We hope that you all had a safe and relaxing spring break.
Band Sectionals: All grade 6 Clarinet and flute players have sectionals today during advisory in the band room.
Class Photo Day is Thursday, April 5th. The staff group photo will also be done Thursday.
Dance Club: There will be an important rehearsal for all dance club members this WED/THUR/FRI at 116 on the stage. You must attend to perform at Claremont at the end of April. See Ms Noel if you have any questions.
Royal BC Museum Heritage Fair - did you attend a meeting with Ms. Lindsay just before spring break to hear about the upcoming heritage fair? If you did, please come to a quick meeting during advisory TOMORROW to let her know if you're in or out. If you didn't make it to that meeting, and are interested, come along, too!
The recycling stations are in full operation. Please sort all items correctly. Reminder coffee cups go in paper recycling. The plastic lids need to come off and go into hard plastics. Thanks for making a difference in our environment.
Reminder Report Cards go home tomorrow. For Gr 7 students, the FSA results and booklet will also be going home with your report cards.

Next Friday, April 13th, is the final day to submit your orders for the 2017/2018 ROMS Yearbook! Order forms available from Miss Cottier and Miss Cottier's website. No late orders will be accepted and only a small quantity of additional yearbooks will be ordered.
Canteen today: On sale today in the Canteen at first recess is cookies and iced tea.
Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess. Popcorn $1.50.
The 2018 badminton season is set to begin this week. There will be an important introductory meeting for all students interested in playing badminton this year, tomorrow at SECOND recess in the gym. Please be there right after advisory and help remind your friends!
Attention to all girls interested in playing field hockey this year for Royal Oak. First practice will be on Thursday, after school. Please bring a mouth guard, shin guards, and a extra sock for your stick as we are practicing in the gym.
Attention all grade 6/7 boys playing rugby this season. There will be a practice tomorrow after school from 3:15 - 4:15. The season starts soon, so remember to be there!
The first practice for the girls rugby team will be soon. Please stay tuned to the announcements for further details.

Parents will be given an opportunity to book an appointment with an Admin Counsellor to discuss their student's class placement for 2018/19. Please note that each appointment will be 10 minutes in duration. We ask that you come prepared to discuss your student's academic strengths and areas of concern. You are not permitted to request a specific teacher or classroom.

Today is Tuesday, April 3, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS. Our weather calls for cloudy skies and a high of 9 degrees.
Welcome Back: A big welcome back to the 25 grade 8 students who went to Europe over the spring break! They travelled to 5 different countries in 10 days! A big thank you to Ms. Ryan, Ms. Pratt, Ms Cottier and Mr. Goy for making this exciting trip happen.
Did You know? Report # 2 goes home this week? Be sure to show it to your parents and return the envelope signed! For the4 Grade 7 students, your results from the FSA test will also be going home with the report card!
1 The first web cam watched a coffee pot. It allowed researchers at Cambridge to monitor the coffee situation without leaving their desks.
2. The entire state of Wyoming only has two escalators.
3 Ravens in captivity can learn to talk better than parrots.
Spring Break! Welcome back from the two week spring break! That was a great break but it is also good to be back at school and into routine!
Term 3: We are now well into term 3! Be sure to set goals for your final term! Three months to go before we are done another school year!
