ROMS TV Script, February 15th

Here is your afternoon ROMS TV News report

S1: Hello! I’m ____________________

Today is Thursday, February 15 , and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  The weather calls for clouds with sunny periods and  a high of 10 degrees.

Did You know?

Bananas Can’t Reproduce

The bananas we are all know and love, known as Cavendish, are in fact a hybrid of two other plant species. It has no seeds and has only been able to reproduce with the aid of farmers, who remove and transplant part of the plant’s stem in order to create our favorite yellow fruit.

Recyling:

Batteries power our daily lives and as consumers, it’s our responsibility to recycle them when they reach their end-of-life. Battery recycling not only prevents potentially hazardous materials in batteries from harming the environment, it can protect against potential fires by keeping batteries out of the garbage and helps conserve our natural resources.

Ask your teacher:  When is the next Pro D day? ?

Bake Sale: Again today is the Grade 8 Farewell Bake Sale is on during lunch activity time!  Be sure to check out the many tasty items.

Lost and Found:  Check out the lost and found for your missing items.  Everything is on display for you to have a look.  We are now down to 52 items in the L and F. Thanks for picking up your lost items.

Olympic News:

Women have been allowed to compete in the Olympics since 1900.

From 1924-1992, the Winter and the Summer Olympics took place in the same year. Now, they’re on separate cycles and alternate every two years.
