Grade 8 Students:
It's transition time, which means we are getting prepared to transition to secondary school.  All Grade 8's have been given a permission form to attend 3 field trips to Claremont.  Please return your signed consent forms asap.

Archery Club:
The ROMS Archery Club has space for a few new members for our Winter sessions.  If you are interested in joining the archery club meet with Mr. Kenny in the art room today at morning recess.

Chess Club:
Anyone interested in playing chess is welcome to play every Wednesday at lunch in Mr. Azim's room 230.  Students from all grades and skill levels are welcome.  Whether you are a beginner or a competitive chess player, stop in on Wednesday!

Conversation and Activities Club: Please join us for Conversations Club today in Room 227. Meet new friends, learn about other cultures, and practice your English. All students are welcome. Please see Ms. Beristain in room 219 for more information.

Math Challengers:
The first math challengers session will be this Thursday at 1:15pm in Miss Cottier's room.  Please bring your practice booklets, a calculator, and a pencil.

Youth In Action: There is an important Youth in Action meeting Thursday at 11:23am in Miss Cottier's room.

ROMS Hoodies:
Attention all Royal Oak students!!! If you missed the chance to order a Royal Oak hoodie, you are in luck. This week only, ROMS hoodies will be available for the final time this year. If you are interested, order forms and sample sizes are available at the PE office. Orders will be accepted until this Friday to don't delay!

Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.



This week's volleyball practice schedule is posted on the ROMS Athletic web page. . League games for competitive teams start next week. Please go to lowerislandschoolsports.ca for game schedule and further league details.

Practicing today at lunch recess is the grade 8 girls jamboree/recreational team. All grade 8 girls who are not already on a team are welcome. Please go to the gym after advisory.

Also, there is an important meeting for all grade 7 girls playing volleyball today during SECOND recess in the gym.


***A reminder that all practice schedules are posted on the ROMS Athletic web page. Games are listed on the lowerislandschoolsports.ca It is your responsibility to know when your team practices or has a game scheduled.


Lost & Found: The Lost and found items are quickly mounting up again.   We just cleared up the the Lost and Found before the break and now it has over 42 items.  If your child is missing a clothing item, please come in and check the Lost & Found for it.

ROMS parents, this is your opportunity to meet our new Superintendent and ask your questions.

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:

All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help
with PAC Fund raising.  If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office.  In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would
