Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am


Band Sectionals:
There is a grade 6 Violin, Clarinet and Flute sectional today at 12:46. Please bring your lunch!


Vocal Ensemble:
There is a Vocal Ensemble Rehearsal today at 1:15 in the Band room!


France Trip 2018: The France Trip meeting is canceled today and is rescheduled for tomorrow at 1:15 in Mme Ryan's room.


Playground Structure: The new play structure will  be open today at recess and lunch for all grades.  If it becomes too crowded, we will have to limit one grade.


Judo: The Royal Oak Judo Club will begin winter training in the Multi-Purpose Room after school today.


Learning Commons Staff Party:
We are finally having our delayed staff meeting TOMORROW, Wednesday, during advisory. Please bring your lunch to the learning commons as soon as you're dismissed from block 3.


Canteen today: On sale today in the Canteen during morning recess is pizza bread, cookies & hot chocolate.


Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess. Popcorn $1.50,

Volleyball:


This week's competitive volleyball team practice schedule can be found on the ROMS athletics web page. Please have a look to see when your team is practicing.

Practices for Rec team will be starting soon, so stay tuned to the morning announcements for times and dates.

The grade 6/7 boys competitive team roster is posted on the PE office door. The grade 6 girls competitive roster is also now posted on the PE office door.


There will be an important general meeting for all grade 6 and 7 students who are playing on volleyball teams or who would like to play on a volleyball team this year. The meeting is at FIRST recess today in the gym.

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:

All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help
with PAC Fund raising.  If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office.  In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would

 Today is Monday, January 8, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  The weather calls for cloudy skies with rain showers and a high 8 degrees.    

A big welcome back and a happy new year to everyone for the 2018 calendar year.

There are now 18 days until we are halfway through the school year.   This is a great time to review your school goals.

Did you know:

How big is 2018?

  • 2,018 seconds is equal to 33 minutes, 38 seconds.

  • To count from 1 to 2,018 would take you about thirty-three minutes.

  • A cube with a volume of 2018 cubic inches would be around 1.1 feet tall.

 Playground:   The new play structure will  be open today at recess and lunch for all grades.  If it becomes too crowded, we will have to limit one grade.

Pizza day: 4 days to our very first Friday Pizza day for 2018!  

Bus passes:     Always have your bus card out and ready to scan as you load the bus.  We are still waiting for the new bus cards to arrive.  When they do come in, the office will get them to you.

 intramural:   Intra-murals will be starting up again this week.  If you have not been part of intra-murals, this is your chance to get involved.

Recycling:  The recycling stations are open and ready to go.   Please bring your recycle tower down during advisory presorted.  We all have a part in doing it right!

Today is Monday, January 9, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  The weather calls for cloudy skies with a high 7 degrees.    

A big welcome back and a happy new year to everyone for the 2018 calendar year and we trust everyone had a restful  holiday!

There are now 17 days until we are halfway through the school year.   This is a great time to focus on term two!

Did you know:

Canada has the longest coastline of any country in the world. In fact, if you were to walk around the country (without sleeping, eating, or resting), it would take roughly four and a half years.

Canadians consume more Kraft Macaroni & Cheese dinners than any other nation in the world.

 

Playground:   The new play structure will  be open today at recess and lunch for all grades.   

Learning Commons:  As you know the LC is open in the mornings.  Reminder that there is no longer any any on-line gaming or cell phone usage prior to school.
