Playground Structure: The new play structure will  be open today at recess and lunch for all grades.  If it becomes too crowded, we will have to limit one grade.


Conversation and Activities Club: Please join us for Conversations Club today in Room 227. Meet new friends, learn about other cultures, and practice your English. All students are welcome. Please see Ms. Beristain in room 219 for more information.


ROMS TV News Crew: We are looking forward to getting a new year of ROMS TV started today, with Samara D.,  6-4, Natasha C., 8-1 and Macy H., 8-6 coming to the learning commons at 11 am


Learning Commons:
From the learning commons - Ms. Lindsay and Ms. Gaudet welcome you back to a new year! If you have a book out with a due date of Jan. 8, that's today! Bring it in to renew or to swap for something new.

Athletic Leadership:
The first meeting of 2018 for Athletic Leadership will be this Friday during advisory.


Volleyball: This week's volleyball practice schedule has now been posted to the ROMS Athletics web page. Please have a look to see when your team is practicing.

The grade 6/7 boys competitive team roster has been posted on the PE office door. If you have tried out for this team have a look. 

Recreational/Jamboree teams for all grades and will be starting up soon so please listen carefully to the morning announcements this week for further information.

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:

All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help
with PAC Fund raising.  If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office.  In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would

Here is your afternoon ROMS TV News

 Today is Monday, January 8, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  The weather calls for cloudy skies with rain showers and a high 8 degrees.    

A big welcome back and a happy new year to everyone for the 2018 calendar year.

There are now 18 days until we are halfway through the school year.   This is a great time to review your school goals.

Did you know:

How big is 2018?

  • 2,018 seconds is equal to 33 minutes, 38 seconds.

  • To count from 1 to 2,018 would take you about thirty-three minutes.

  • A cube with a volume of 2018 cubic inches would be around 1.1 feet tall.

Pizza day: 4 days to our very first Friday Pizza day for 2018!  

Bus passes:     Always have your bus card out and ready to scan as you load the bus.  We are still waiting for the new bus cards to arrive.  When they do come in, the office will get them to you.

 intramural:   Intramurals will be starting up again this week.  If you have not been part of intramurals, this is your chance to get involved.

Recycling:  The recycling stations are open and ready to go.   Please bring your recycle tower down during advisory presorted.  We all have a part in doing it right!
