Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am


Climbing Structure: Today is our second day of the opening of the new play structure.  We will have the grade 7's only on the structure today, this includes both recess and lunch.  This helps to reduce the congestion on the structure.  Tomorrow will be the grade 8's turn. 


Recycling Stations: A reminder that all recycling stations will be shut down on Wednesday after advisory. Please make sure your station is emptied and cleaned out as we don't want fruit flies or mold growing in them!!!


Lockers: A reminder that all lockers must be cleaned out this week and checked by homeroom teachers.


Paper Recycling:
The large paper recycling bin is open all this week.  Please send your blue bin out to be emptied when it is full.  All lockers need to be cleaned and checked prior to the holiday break! 

Band Sectionals:
There is a Trumpet sectional today at 12:46 in the Band room. Please bring your lunch!


Music In the Hallways:
Reminder to all performers that they need leave advisory at 1pm in order to set-up for a 1:10 start on either the blue floor or the green floor. 


Vocale Ensemble:
There is a Vocal Ensemble rehearsal today at 1:16, all members must attend!


ROMS TV News Crew:
Tomorrow's ROMS TV News Crew meeting is going to have to be postponed until January, due to Ms. Gaudet being away. There's a card to sign in the LC for any students who want to send her a get well message. 

This is a heads-up for ROMS TV crew who will start when we come back - tomorrow, we'll be asking Samara D., Natasha C and Macy H to come to the LC to go over their roles.


Sock Bombs: We have extended the deadline... tomorrow is the final day to bring in basic necessity items for our Sock Bombs to help those people in need at Our Place Society.


Youth In Action:
Youth in Action Meeting this Thursday at 11:23am in Miss Cottier's room.


Judo: A reminder to that Judo club is today after school in the MPR from 3:15-4:45 pm. See Mr. Mollard if you cannot attend.


ROMS Clothing Orders: A reminder that ROMS clothing orders are expected to be delivered this week. Mr. Menzies and the Athletic Leadership team will notify everyone as to when you can pick up your order.


Canteen Tuesday: On sale at first recess today is pizza bread, cookies and hot chocolate.


Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess. Popcorn $1.50,


ROMS SPORTS:

Volleyball:

Reminder to all grade 6 girls interested in playing volleyball this season that you have your next practice today after school, and then again on Thursday, Dec 21st after school. Practice will be from 3:15 to 4:30.

Intra murals:
This week will be the finals for the grade 6/7 intramural indoor soccer championship. Tuesday select teams will be playing in semi-final qualifying matches, and Friday will be the final and a champion will be crowned. Mr. Menzies will come to your class to let you know if your division will be participating this week.

Grade 8 Intra Murals:
A huge shout out to the grade 8 indoor soccer champions - the 8-2 Participants, for their exciting win over the 8-1 Kenny's. Next up in the New Year – Dodge ball.

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:

All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help
with PAC Fund raising.  If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office.  In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would

Here is your afternoon ROMS TV News  

S1: Hello! I’m ____________________

 Today is Monday, December 19, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  The weather calls for cloudy skies with a high 8 degrees.  We have had awesome weather for December!  Sweet!

There are now 06 days until the big guy in red with large items comes in the middle of the night!   Be sure you make your bed every morning.   Santa knows.

 Did you know:

  • when lightning strikes it can reach up to 30,000 degrees celsius (54,000 degrees fahrenheit)

  • spiders are arachnids and not insects

 

Playground:   The new play structure will finally be open today at recess and lunch.  Due to the demand, we will have grade 7’s only on the structure.  We will have gr 8’s use the structure tomorrow.    

Holiday Clean up!  Let’s start hauling home those personal items that are lurking in your locker.   All lockers need to be clean and inspected for the holiday season.  We do not want any fruit flies or mold growing in our lockers over the holidays.

Pizza day: 3 days to our last Friday Pizza day for 2017

Sock Bombs:  Remember to keep building your class sock bombs!  The more the merrier.  They are due Wednesday.

Bus passes:     Always have your bus card out and ready to scan as you load the bus.

Recycling:  Paper coffee cups go in paper recycling.  They are not to go in the milk recycling bins!   Be sure to keep your paper bin emptied this week.  The big recycling bin will be open all week to allow classes to clean out your rooms!  

Field Trips:  If you are going on a field trip this week, make sure you have all the required expectations met.   No forgetting your forms and fees!  

Music in the Hallway:  This week, you will hear our band students playing Holiday music in the hallways!   Happy holidays!
