Lost & Found: A reminder to student to check the lost and found for misplaced items. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of the day today.



Band Sectionals:
There is a Trombone, Baritone and Bass Guitar Sectional today at 12:46 in the band room. Please bring your lunch!


Stage Band and Vocal Ensemble:
There is a meeting for both Vocal ensemble and Stage Band today at 1:15 in the band room. All members need to attend.


Holiday Activities in the LC:
Are you curious about how Christmas is celebrated in other countries? Are you thinking of making your own gifts? Want to do some Christmas baking? Come have a look at our display of books. You can also make some decorations for your classroom or your home with our holiday-themed colouring sheets - they're right on the front counter as you come in, next to the display of holiday comics.


Sock Bombs: A reminder to bring in your sock bomb donations for the less fortunate.

Youth In Action:
There is a Youth in Action meeting on today at 11:23am in Miss Cottier's room.  


Candy cane Reindeer: On sale today at lunch activity time in the Canteen - candy cane reindeer and potato-chips. $1.00 each. Proceeds are going towards our Youth In Action & Student Council “Sock Bomb” project that helps the less fortunate and supports “Our Place Society”. Buy your candy cane reindeer and help put a smile on someone's face!!


Craft Club: Today at 1:15 in the Art Room. See Ms. Ozi for details.


Boys Group: A reminder that there will be a Boys' Group meeting at the beginning of Advisory in the Blue Conference Room.


Archery Club: A reminder that there is archery club today. Please meet Mr. Kenny at the front of the school at 3:00 pm.


Paper Recycling Today:

Just a reminder that it is paper recycling day today. Please make sure that you send a student down with your recycling to the bins at the beginning of Advisory.


Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess today -chicken wings, cookies & hot chocolate.


Pizza Day tomorrow - $2.50 per slice


ROMS SPORTS:


Athletic Leadership:
There will be an important meeting for all Athletic Leadership members today at FIRST recess in the gym to discuss jersey day tomorrow. All members must attend.


Volleyball:
The volleyball team selection practice schedule is posted on the ROMS Athletics web page. Practicing today at SECOND recess is the grade 7 girls competitive team with Ms. Espedido. Also, reminder to all grade 6 girls of your volleyball practice today after school.


Team-mate Jersey Day:
Friday is Teammate Jersey Day! Please come dressed in any athletic jersey or uniform, and take part in this fun school spirit building event. At 1:15 on Friday, members of the ROMS staff will be taking on the grade 7/8 boys and girls competitive teams in a basketball game that is sure to be thrilling and entertaining!

Report Card Envelopes: Just a reminder to parents to please remember to return signed report card envelopes to the homeroom teacher as soon as possible.


Lost & Found: Once again the lost and found is bursting at the seams. Please check for your lost or missing items as soon as possible. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity by the end of the day on Thursday, December 14th. Don't miss out !!

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:

All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help
with PAC Fund raising.  If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office.  In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would

ROMS TV Script, Thursday, December 14

Here is your afternoon ROMS TV News

Today is Thursday, December 14, and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  The weather calls for clouds with  sunny skies and a high 8 degrees.   That’s super awesome weather for December!  

There are now 11 days until the big guy in red with large items comes in the middle of the night!   Be sure you are nice to you empty the dishwasher when you go home tonight.  Santa really likes it when you do that.

 Did you know:

  • at birth dalmatians are always white

  • hummingbirds are the only bird that can fly backwards

 

Lost & Found:  Items have been put out on display. The pile has become absolutely huge!      Items unclaimed by Friday will be donated to charity.   

Playground:   The new playground structure should be ready by Friday lunch!  The workers are now finished the wood frame.   The wood chips should be here Friday afternoon.   

Holiday Clean up!  Let’s start hauling home those personal items that are lurking in your locker.   The more you clean out now, the better.  All lockers need to be clean for the holiday season.

Pizza day: 1 days to Friday Pizza!  

Intra murals:  A big congratulations to 8-2 for their decisive win over 8-1 in the final championship indoor soccer game.   

Report Cards:  Report cards went home last Friday.   Envelopes should be back signed!

Sock Bombs:  Remember to keep building your class sock bombs!  The more the merrier.   

Bus passes:     Always have your bus card out and ready to scan as you load the bus.  We are still waiting for the new bus cards.  Thanks for being patient.

Jersey Day is this Friday!  Make sure you have your Jersey ready to go for Friday!  Remember we really like love our home team, the Vancouver Canucks!   

Music in the Hallway:  Starting next week, you will hear our band students playing Holiday music in the hallways!   Get ready for that one!
