Candy cane Reindeer: On sale tomorrow at lunch activity time in the Canteen - candy cane reindeer and potato-chips. $1.00 each. Proceeds are going towards our Youth In Action & Student Council “Sock Bomb” project that helps the less fortunate and supports “Our Place Society”. Buy your candy cane reindeer and help put a smile on someone's face!!

Eagles Group:
All Eagles club members will meet in Rm 215 (beside staff room) today in block 2 for our cooking class!  See Ms Noel if you have any questions.

Extreme Team:
There will be no Extreme Team Meeting today.  See you next week.

Music In the Hallways:
The Music department is going to spread some music cheer during Advisory and Activity time next week. Students need to sign-up for Music in the Hallways by today. Please see the Band bulletin board for the sign-up sheet. Music in the hallways is open to students who are not in band as well! Please see Mrs. Galvao if you have any questions. 

Youth In Action:
There is a Youth in Action meeting on Thursday at 11:23am in Miss Cottier's room.  

Popcorn: On sale today at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.

Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess tomorrow -chicken wings, cookies & hot chocolate.


ROMS Swim Team:
There will an important meeting for all swim team members, today at FIRST recess to discuss this weekend's swim meet. Please help remind your fellow swimmer and meet Mr. Menzies in the gym after block 2.

This week's competitive volleyball tea selection practice schedule is posted on the ROMS Athletics web page. Please have a look to see when teams are practicing. All students interested are welcome and encouraged to attend these practices.

Practicing after school today is the grade 8 boys competitive team. All grade 8 boys are welcome!

Team-mate Jersey Day:
Friday is Teammate Jersey Day! Please come dressed in any athletic jersey or uniform, and take part in this fun school spirit building event. At 1:15 on Friday, members of the ROMS staff will be taking on the grade 7/8 boys and girls competitive teams in a basketball game that is sure to be thrilling and entertaining!

Grade 8 Intra Murals:
The Cup is on the line! Wednesday at lunch come and watch 8-1 and 8-2 battle it out for the first intra-mural championship of the year.


***A reminder that all practice schedules are posted on the ROMS Athletic web page. Games are listed on the lowerislandschoolsports.ca It is your responsibility to know when your team practices or has a game scheduled.


Report Card Envelopes: Just a reminder to parents to please remember to return signed report card envelopes to the homeroom teacher as soon as possible.

Lost & Found: Once again the lost and found is bursting at the seams. Please check for your lost or missing items as soon as possible. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity by the end of the day on Thursday, December 14th. Don't miss out !!

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:

All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help
with PAC Fund raising.  If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office.  In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would

Today is Thursday, December 13 and here’s the news about what’s happening at ROMS.  The weather calls for clouds with some clear sunny skies and a high 9 degrees.   That’s double sweet weather for December!  

There are now 12 days until the big guy with large items comes in his sleigh!   Be sure you are nice to your teddy bears as Santa knows everything!

 Did you know:

  • each time you see a full moon you always see the same side

  • stewardesses is the longest word that is typed with only the left hand

Lost & Found:  Check the growing!   The pile has become absolutely huge!  There are 41 water bottle and 28 pairs of  shoes in the L and F.     Items unclaimed by Friday will be donated to charity.   

Playground:   The new playground structure should be ready by Friday!  The workers are currently finishing up the wood frame.    We are told that the wood chips should be ready for Friday afternoon.  Pizza day: 2 days to Friday Pizza!  

School Grounds:  Are looking fairly good!  Keep up your effort in keeping our environment clean.  If you bring a packaged item outside, you need to take care of it.

Intra murals:  are on for the grade 8’s today.   Be sure to come out and watch this championship game today!

Report Cards:  Report cards went home last Friday.   Your envelope should be back   signed!

Sock Bombs:  Remember to keep building your class sock bombs!  This is our chance to help those in need especially at this time of the year!  

Bus passes:   Students who have just registered, will hopefully be getting a card soon.  There is a backlog at the school board office.   Always have your bus card out and ready to scan as you load the bus


Jersey Day on on Dec 15th!  Make sure you have your Jersey ready to go for Friday!

Remember we really like the the Vancouver Canucks!   Mr Stanchfield has asked that no one wear the Boston Bruins jersey!  (Not)


Music in the Hallway:  Starting next week, you will hear our band students playing Holiday music in the hallways!
