Report Card Envelopes: Just a reminder to student to please remember to return your signed report card envelope to your homeroom teacher as soon as possible.
Conversation and Activities Club: Please join us for Conversations Club today in Room 227. Meet new friends, learn about other cultures, and practice your English. All students are welcome. Please see Ms. Beristain in room 219 for more information.
Holiday Reading: From the Learning Commons - are you looking to get into the holiday mood, or are already there? Either way, come check out the display of holiday-themed books in the LC.

Volleyball team selection practices for all competitive team start this week. The practice schedule has now been posted on the ROMS Athletics web page, so please have a look if you are interested in playing on a competitive team in January.
Practicing after school today is the grade 6/7 boys competitive team from 3:15 - 5:00pm. Practicing tomorrow morning is the grade 7/8 girls competitive team form 8:00 - 8:50, and the grade 6 competitive team after school.
This Friday, December 15th is Teammate Jersey Day! Please come dressed in any athletic jersey or uniform, and take part in this fun school spirit building event. Prizes will be handed out for creativity and for coming dressed as a team, however wearing a jersey that is unique or is from your favorite team is also encouraged. At lunch recess on Friday, members of the ROMS staff will be taking on the grade 7/8 boys and girls competitive teams in a basketball game that is sure to be thrilling and entertaining! Wear your athletic jersey this Friday and join the fun!
8 Intra Murals:
The Cup is on the line! Wednesday at lunch come and watch 8-1 and 8-2 battle it out for the first intra-mural championship of the year.

Lost & Found: Once again the lost and found is bursting at the seams. Please check for your lost or missing items as soon as possible. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity by the end of the day on Thursday, December 14th. Don't miss out !!

December 11th between 2:30-3:30 pm ONLY. There will be a
PAC representative set up in the main foyer of the school.
Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:
grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to
with PAC Fund raising. If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office. In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would

Today is Monday, December 11 and here’s the news about what’s happening at Royal Oak. The weather calls for clear sunny skies and a high 7 degrees. Not bad for winter months!
There are now 14 days until the big guy in the fancy red and white outfit comes in his sleigh Be sure you are nice to your parents as Santa knows!

Lost & Found: Check the lost and found for your lost items today. It is a growing pile! There are 34 water bottles in the L and F. Someone must be thirsty out there! Items unclaimed by the holiday break will be donated to charity.
Playground: The new playground structure should be ready this week! Yes! We are now waiting for the wood chips to arrive. We are told that it should be ready for Thursday of this week. Keep tuned.
Remember Friday Pizza day at RO! Only 2 pizza days left in 2017.
Sports equipment: If you borrow a ball from Mr Menzies in the gym, please make sure you return it.
School Grounds: Are looking fairly good! If your class been out on a grounds clean up a big thank you!
Report Cards: Report cards went home on Friday. Be sure the envelope comes back signed today or tomorrow.
Bus passes: Be sure to keep your bus pass is a safe place. Students who have just registered, will hopefully be getting a card soon. There is a big backlog at the school board office. Do not hole punch cards as this causes them to malfunction.
