Playground: The playground continues to be is off limits today. They have installed a temporary fence but it is still off limits so please stay off of the playground equipment. Different fencing will be installed very soon.

Conversations & Games Club:

A reminder that the Conversations & Games Club is today in the Blue Conference room from 1:15-2:00 pm See Ms. Beristain for details.

Girls Group:
A reminder for girls in rotation 2. Please bring your swimsuit and towel for swimming activities at Commonwealth pool tomorrow. We will be leaving right at the bell for advisory. Make sure you pack lunch easily to eat during our walk to the pool. 

Popcorn: Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.



This week's practice schedule for competitive teams has been posted on the Royal Oak Athletics webpage, and game schedules and league rules can be found at lowerislandschoolsports.ca. Please have a look to see when your team is practicing and playing this week. Players are reminded to confirm transportation arrangements to away game in advance and be able to tell their coach who is driving them to the game and home.

Good luck to our competitive team this week in their playoff games! Go Eagles!

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards:

All grade 6 students have been given a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to help
with PAC Fund raising.  If your family is not intending to use it, please
return it to the school by dropping it into the PAC box outside the school
office.  In that way, we can re-assign it to someone else. If you would

Today is Thursday, December 4 and here’s the news about what’s happening at Royal Oak.  The weather calls for cloudy skies 

witth sunshine sprinkled in and a high 6 degrees.   


This is our last month of school in 2017 and  there are now 21 days until the big guy in a red comes.  Get on the nice list by  

making your bed every day.

Did you know:  

  • That the first ever text message was sent 25 years ago on Dec 3, 1992.  The message was sent by  test engineer Neil Papworth.   

  • The first text simply read “Merry Christmas”

  • Neil Papworth now resides in Canada.

  • Did you also know Canada is one of the most educated countries in the world with just over 50% of its residents with a college

  • degree?

  • The Holiday season is fast coming upon us.  It is time to start thinking about cleaning out classrooms.  Santa really likes clean classrooms.   

Playground:   The construction of our new playground structure is coming along fast.   The structure is done but the workers t They still need to put a wood  chips around the climbing bars.  Until that happens, the structure is closed for student use.  


P Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in China yesterday to begin trade talks with the Chinese Government.  China has the

second largest economy in the world.   


R Report Cards:  Reminder to students that report cards will go home on Friday.  Students are to return the envelope  with a   g

u parent or guardian's signature on the following Monday.


B Bus passes:  Be sure to keep your bus pass is a safe place.  If you lose your bus pass, it will cost you$10 to replace it.     

S Students who have registered late, will be getting a card soon.   If you do not register, you will not be getting a card.
