Photo Retakes: A reminder to students and staff that it is photo retake day today. Any classes that will be leaving the school for a field trip today are encourage to have your photo taken as soon as possible.

Extreme Team:
Our lunch recess meeting for Extreme Team is cancelled today.  See you next week!

Youth In Action:
There is an important Youth in Action meeting on Thursday at 11:23 in Miss Cottier's room to discuss our We Scare Hunger Campaign!

Apples for Maya Fund raiser Caramel apples will be on sale on Thursday during both morning recess and at lunch activity time. $3 for a caramel apple, and $4 for a decorated caramel apple!

Halloween Spooktacular: Tickets are $10 each and will be sold outside the office during lunch activity time every day this week. Don't miss out on this spookie event. 

Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.

Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess tomorrow -cookies & burritos



Attention all grade 6/7 girls interested in playing on the 6/7 girls recreational team. There will be a very important meeting today at FRIST recess in the gym. Mr. Menzies will be gathering emails, and handing out permission packages, so be sure to make it. That's 6/7 girls recreational basketball meeting on the gym today, FIRST recess.

The 7/8 girls recreational team, coaches my Ms. Dallimore, is in need of more players. This team will be lots of fun and is a great opportunity to try basketball and represent Royal Oak. Please see Ms. Dallimore if you are interested, and bring a friend!

Grade 6/7 Girls Competitive: Congratulations to the awesome start to the competitive 6/7 girls basketball season. Next practice is on Thursday at lunch.

Lost & Found: Please check the lost & found for your missing items as it is over flowing. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of the day on Thursday, October 26th.

Royal Oak students have special time to attend from 5 - 6:30pm. Tickets are $10 each and will be sold outside the office during lunch activity time every day this week. Don't miss out on this Eerie Event. 

Miraculous Maya:

One of Royal Oak Middle School's precious treasures, Maya and her family need our help. Maya suffers from a rare genetic disorder called MPS. She is currently in Children's hospital in Vancouver recovering from open heart surgery and is waiting to have surgery on both hips. Coupon Books: Notices have been sent home to families who have not yet returned their money or coupon book. Please submit your $25 or return the coupon book to the office as soon as possible.

Grade 8 Families:

Attention All Grade 8 Families,
As your child begins his/her last year of middle school, we are looking
forward to organizing an event to celebrate this milestone at the end of
the 2017/18 school year. Attached is the letter for all grade 8 families to
take a look and see how they would like to contribute their time and/or
donation. Thank you for making your child's last year at Royal Oak a

Thrifty Smile Cards:

We have been accepted by Thrifty Foods to take part in their Smile Card
Program to earn up to $2500 this school year!  Thrifty Foods will give 5%
of what you spend on groceries to our school!  As in the last few years,
the PAC will be sending out a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to each grade 6
family.   The card is easy and free to use - you pre-load it with an amount
of your choice and use it like a cash card.  If you don't want to use your
card, please return it to the PAC Box outside the office. Thanks for
