Earthquake Drill: Just a reminder that there is an earthquake drill today at 10:05. Stop, drop, cover and count to 60. We will not evacuate.

Learning Commons: DEAR Day Drop Everything and Read Day is this coming Monday! For the last 20 minutes of Block 3 on Monday, we're asking everyone to take a break from what they're doing and pick up a book or magazine and read!! Listen on Monday for more details about the reading contest that will be starting that day, in the Learning Commons.

Boys Group: Reminder about Boys' Group Meeting at the Beginning of Advisory in the Blue Conference Room.
Lost & Found: Please check the lost & found for your missing items as it is over flowing. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of the day on Thursday, October 26th.
Halloween Spooktacular: (Ghost/Halloween noises) . . . . . . . Come join us for a SPOOKTACULAR time at Claremont Secondary School on Friday October 27th. Royal Oak students have special time to attend from 5 - 6:30pm. Tickets are $10 each and will be sold outside the office today during lunch activity time, 1:15 - 2:00. Don't miss out on this Haunted Halloween House.

Team practice schedules can be found on the ROMS Athletics web page for all teams. Team practicing today at SECOND recess are: the grade 6/7 boys competitive team, and the grade 6/7 girls competitive team. Please be there on time dressed in your PE strip by 1:20.
Important reminder to all those boys on the comp gr 8 boys basketball team of their practice and meeting tomorrow morning at 9:00am please see Mr. Sparanese if you cannot attend.

One of Royal Oak Middle School's precious treasures, Maya and her family need our help. Maya suffers from a rare genetic disorder called MPS. She is currently in Children's hospital in Vancouver recovering from open heart surgery and is waiting to have surgery on both hips. Swim Club Volunteers:
We are still in need of parent supervisors for practices, in order for us to run the Royal Oak swim program this year. Parents, please contact Mr. Menzies if you are able to help.
Coupon Books: Notices have been sent home to families who have not yet returned their money or coupon book. Please submit your $25 or return the coupon book to the office as soon as possible.

Attention All Grade 8 Families - the first planning meeting for the Grade 8 Farewell Celebration will take place on Thursday October 19 from 6-7 in the Learning Commons. Come out and give us your input on how we can make this years event a great memory for our students last year at ROMS.

Thrifty Smile Cards:
have been accepted by Thrifty Foods to take part in their Smile
Program to earn up to $2500 this school year! Thrifty Foods will give 5%
of what you spend on groceries to our school! As in the last few years,
the PAC will be sending out a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to each grade 6
family. The card is easy and free to use - you pre-load it with an amount
of your choice and use it like a cash card. If you don't want to use your
