Boys Group: Reminder about Boys' Group Meeting at the Beginning of Advisory in the Blue Conference Room.
Cops 4 Cancer: Today is the day that the Thunderbird hallway fundraiser champions receive their Sundae Treats from Mr. Bergeron. Way to go Thunderbirds!!
Dunk Tank: Make sure you join us tomorrow at 1:05 to see your favourite teacher splash down in the dunk tank. There will be 11 teachers going in the tank due to Royal Oak meeting the $5000 fund raising goal. Also be witness to Mr. Sparanese receiving a “special” hair cut. The dunk tank will be on the playing field at 1:05.
Craft Club: Today at 1:15 in the Art Room. See Ms. Ozi for details.
Eagles Group: There will be an important meeting for all Eagles club members today in block 3 and advisory in the green conference room. Please see Ms Noel or Ms. Broome if you can not attend.
Recycling Thursday: Reminder to empty recycle bins during advisory today.

Ed Camp Helpers:
Would all of the students who volunteered to help at the Ed Camp event on Saturday October 14 please meet in the Art Room today at first recess for a very important meeting.
Canteen Thursday: On sale at the Canteen during first recess today is burritos, cookies and smoothies.
Pizza Day tomorrow - $2.50 per slice
There will be a very important meeting today for all boys interested in playing on the grade 6/7 basketball team this year. The meeting is at FIRST recess in the gym and all players must attend. Also, the grade 6/7 boys basketball team will be having their second and final team selection practice later today at SECOND recess in the gym. Players are asked to be there on time in full PE strip.
Attention all grade 7 and 8 girls basketball players. The roster for the 7/8 girls competitive team has been posted on the PE office door. Please have a look to see who will be on this team this year. Also, there will be a meeting today at SECOND recess for all grade 7 and 8 girls not on the competitive team, but who are interested in playing on the 7/8 REC team. Please meet Ms. Dallimore in the Gym at 1:20pm right after advisory.
Rowing gear will be available for pick up from Ms Adams in room 215 at the beginning of lunch activity.
Reminder to all Soccer players that your second tournament is next week. All teams playing at other schools are asked to discuss transportation arrangements and be ready to tell your coach or Mr Menzies who is driving you to the game and home.
There is still space in the Royal Oak Swim team and we are happy to have more students join. Please see Mr. Menzies if you are interested in joining.

One of Royal Oak Middle School's precious treasures, Maya and her family need our help. Maya suffers from a rare genetic disorder called MPS. She is currently in Children's hospital in Vancouver recovering from open heart surgery and is waiting to have surgery on both hips. Swim Club Volunteers:
We are still in need of parent supervisors for practices, in order for us to run the Royal Oak swim program this year. Parents, please contact Mr. Menzies if you are able to help.
Coupon Books: Notices will be going home this week to families who have not yet returned their money or coupon book. Please submit your $25 or return the coupon book to the office as soon as possible.

Thrifty Smile Cards:
have been accepted by Thrifty Foods to take part in their Smile
Program to earn up to $2500 this school year! Thrifty Foods will give 5%
of what you spend on groceries to our school! As in the last few years,
