Miss Cottier and Ms. Smyth are still waiting on 14 permission forms from those students selected to attend We Day next Wednesday, October 18th. Please ensure that these forms are handed in by Friday so that you can confirm your spot in this action packed event!

Reminder to all Athletic Leadership members to hand in your forms to Mr. Menzies ASAP!
The team selection practice schedule for all competitors teams is posted on the ROMS Athletics web page. Meetings for the recreational team will begin shortly so stay tuned for further details. Practicing later today are the grade 6/7 girls competitive and grade 7/8 girls competitive teams after school.
Gr 8 Boys Rec: Notice to all grade 8 boys interested in playing on the ROMS recreational basketball team - there is a meeting in Mr. Stanchfield's room at lunch activity on Thursday.
Notice to all grade 8's of intra-mural indoor soccer beginning next week. Check the schedule by the gym for your division's game dates.
Tournament #2 will be happening next week for all teams! All players on teams playing away, are asked to discuss transportation arrangements and be ready to tell Mr. Menzies who is driving them to the tournament and home.
Practicing tomorrow is the grade 7/8 boys and the 6/7 boys teams. Please be there by 8:00am.
Practices for both girls soccer teams have been canceled this week.
Swim Club: The ROMS Swim Team season has officially begun. All swimmers must hand in your permission packages to Mr. Menzies as soon as possible. Anyone who is interested in joining the swim team is still welcome and can see Mr. Menzies in the PE Office.

ROMS PARENT REVIEW:
One of Royal Oak Middle School's precious treasures, Maya and her family need our help. Maya suffers from a rare genetic disorder called MPS. She is currently in Children's hospital in Vancouver recovering from open heart surgery and is waiting to have surgery on both hips. Swim Club Volunteers:
We are still in need of parent supervisors for practices, in order for us to run the Royal Oak swim program this year. Parents, please contact Mr. Menzies if you are able to help.
Coupon Books: Notices will be going home this week to families who have not yet returned their money or coupon book. Please submit your $25 or return the coupon book to the office as soon as possible.

Thrifty Smile Cards:
have been accepted by Thrifty Foods to take part in their Smile
Program to earn up to $2500 this school year! Thrifty Foods will give 5%
of what you spend on groceries to our school! As in the last few years,
the PAC will be sending out a Thrifty Foods Smile Card to each grade 6
family. The card is easy and free to use - you pre-load it with an amount
