Cancer Fund raising Week:
Congratulations Royal Oak,
Together we raised $802 with the Terry Fox Run yesterday.

Raven Hallway raised: $380.

Thunderbird: $500.

Wolf: $200

Orca: $375.

Way to go ROMS!!


Our combined total for both the Terry Fox and the COPS 4 Cancer fund raising campaign is currently $1455.

Our goal is to raise $3000 to sink some of the staff into the dunk tank and raise  $5000 to shave Mr Azim's, Mr Sparanese's and Mr Stanchfield's head.  We can do it Royal Oak.  There are 3 days to go!! 

Also, the hallway that raises the most money gets an Ice cream Sundae treat!



Eagles Group:
There will be a brief meeting today during advisory for all Eagles club members. Bring a friend if you like.  We will meet in the green conference room. Bring your lunch. See Ms Noel or Ms Broome if you have any questions.



Craft Club: Anyone interested in participating in the craft club is invited to join us today at 1:15 in the Art room.


Learning Commons Crew: today's LC Crew members are Danya and Talia. Please arrive by 1:20 pm. Tomorrow's crew members will be Mattea, Vrinda and Kye.


Litter: Please do your part to make sure there is no litter on the school grounds!  We are all part of the solution.  


Popcorn: On sale at morning recess today at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.


Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess tomorrow - Nachos, cookies, iced tea


ROMS SPORTS:


Soccer:

Practicing after school today is the grade 7/8 girls soccer team. Please be ready to practice by 3:15 later today.

Practicing tomorrow morning (Oct 5th) is the grade 6/7 and grade 7/8 boys teams at 8:00am. Please be there on time!

Finally, the grade 6/7 girls soccer team is scheduled to practice tomorrow (Oct 5th) after school.

Swim Club:
Yesterday we held the first meeting of the year for the ROMS Swim team. Any students who are interested but did not make the meeting, can check in at the PE office to get a sign up package and join the team. Practices are set to begin next Tuesday October 10th at 7:30 am, so be sure to get your permission forms in.

Basketball:
Team selection practices will be starting this week for all ROMS competitive basketball teams. Any students interested in playing basketball this season must attend. Practicing tomorrow at SECOND recess will be the grade 6/7 boys competitive basketball team. Practicing Friday at SECOND recess will be the 6/7 girls and the grade 7/8 girls competitive teams. Meetings for recreational teams will be announced shortly.

ROMS PARENT REVIEW:


Grade 6 immunizations

FORMS WERE DUE MONDAY OCTOBER 2ND.
Recently immunization consent packages for grade 6 students were sent home from the school. If you have not already done so, please return the completed consent form to the school in a sealed envelope as soon as possible. Students in grade 6 will be offered immunizations in school-based clinics with the consent of a parent(s) or representative. Please contact the local Health Unit at  250-544-2400 and ask to speak with a Public Health Nurse if you have any questions. Immunizations will be provided at the school for grade 6 students on October 24, 2017.

Coupon Books: A friendly reminder to all students and parents to please hand in your coupon book orders or return the coupon book to the office asap.

Please complete information forms package and return them to Homeroom teacher asap.

ROMS PAC NEWS:


A reminder that our next PAC meeting is on Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons. This meeting is an important meeting as it is our budget meeting. Please come out and support your PAC and have a voice on where money is allocated within the school community.
