Welcome BBQ: A special thank you to students and staff who attended the Welcome Back BBQ last night. Thank you for your support, it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves!!


Band Sectionals:
There is a grade 6 Flute and Clarinet sectional today at 12:46. Please bring your lunch.


Stage Band: There is a Stage Band rehearsal today at 1:15 in the band room. New members are welcome!



Orange Shirt Day: Remember to wear orange tomorrow to honour and remember the 150, 000 children and their families who were affected by the Indian Residential School System in Canada.  There will be a photo for all students and staff at the front of the school at the beginning of recess. 


Learning Commons Crew:
Students who've applied to be on the LC Crew - please ask your homeroom teacher at 1 p.m. today to be excused, to come to the meeting in the learning commons. If you have your application with you, bring it along.



Eagles Group:
There will be an important meeting for all Eagles club members today in block 3 and advisory in the green conference room.  Please see Ms Noel or Ms. Broome if you can not attend.



Terry Fox:
On September 1, 1980, after 143 days of running the equivalent of a marathon everyday, Terry stopped running.  His primary cancer had spread to his lungs and he was forced to abandon his run just outside of Thunder Bay Ontario. That is why  every autumn schools and communities from  Canada and around the world take up Terry's cause and attempt to complete Terry's goal of raising enough money to eliminate Cancer. Please remember your donation, and your running shoes next Tuesday as we do our part to complete Terry's goal!!


Cops 4 Cancer: The Tour de Rock Team know as the COPS for Cancer are coming to Royal Oak on Friday, Oct 6th.  Be sure to make your donation to the cause. Our goal is to raise $750 per hallway. We can do it Royal Oak

There more we raise, the more staff members end up in the dunk tank!  


Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess today -chocolate chip cookies, mac & cheese & ice tea.

Cross Country Meet:
A reminder to those cross country team members running in the race on today at Lambrick Park Secondary School, please meet changed and ready for pick up at the front door of the school at 2:50.  You will get your jersey at Lambrick Park school when you arrive there.  Don't forget to sign out with either Ms. Wheatley or Mrs. Smyth before you leave.

Found: A bike was found at a bus stop near Berwick House yesterday. Contact Mrs. Punt in the office for further details.


Grade 6 immunizations
Recently immunization consent packages for grade 6 students were sent home from the school. If you have not already done so, please return the completed consent form to the school in a sealed envelope as soon as possible. Students in grade 6 will be offered immunizations in school-based clinics with the consent of a parent(s) or representative. Please contact the local Health Unit at  250-544-2400 and ask to speak with a Public Health Nurse if you have any questions. Immunizations will be provided at the school for grade 6 students on October 24, 2017.

Coupon Books: A friendly reminder to all students and parents to please hand in your coupon book orders or return the coupon book to the office asap.

Please complete information forms package and return them to Homeroom teacher asap.
