BBQ Tonight: A reminder to students and staff that our annual Welcome Back BBQ is tonight from 4-7 pm. This is a family event. Please join us if you can.

Eagles Group: There will be an important meeting for all Eagles club members this tomorrow in block 3 and advisory in the green conference room. Please see Ms Noel or Ms. Broome if you can not attend.

Cops 4 Cancer: Next week will be our Cancer Fundraising week.

Along with the Terry Fox run, we will be raising money for COPS 4 Cancer.  There is a hallway challenge to see which hallway can raise the most money.  We are challenging each hallway to raise 750.  See the posters in the hallway regarding who might end up in the dunk tank for our fundraising challenge. 

Terry Fox Run: Terry Fox's simple yet compelling goal of one dollar from every Canadian has been accomplished many times over since 1980, with over 650 millions dollars raised for Cancer Research.

His example has proved to be universal, with more than 30 countries outside of Canada hosting Terry Fox Runs.

Please bring your donation on Tuesday, October 3rd when the ROMS community pays tribute to the ongoing MARATHON OF HOPE!!

Popcorn: On sale at morning recess at the canteen. $1.50 per bag.

Canteen Thursday: On sale at recess tomorrow -chocolate chip cookies, mac & cheese & ice tea.



Congratulations to the grade 6/7 girls and the 7/8 boys teams on their tournament success this week! Both squads played very well, won several games, showed strong sportsmanship, and did a great job representing Royal Oak. Great job Eagles!

There will be a quick meeting for the boys 6/7 soccer team in the MPR today after advisory at 1:16. Don't forget to bring your completed forms!

A Reminder to the grade 6/7 boys and the 7/8 boys soccer teams of your practices tomorrow morning, Thursday Sept 28. Please be there ready to practice by 8:00am. Please go to the ROMS athletics web page to view tournament and practice schedules.



Found: A bike was found at a bus stop near Berwick House yesterday. Contact Mrs. Punt in the office for further details.

Grade 6 immunizations
Recently immunization consent packages for grade 6 students were sent home from the school. If you have not already done so, please return the completed consent form to the school in a sealed envelope as soon as possible. Students in grade 6 will be offered immunizations in school-based clinics with the consent of a parent(s) or representative. Please contact the local Health Unit at  250-544-2400 and ask to speak with a Public Health Nurse if you have any questions. Immunizations will be provided at the school for grade 6 students on October 24, 2017.

Coupon Books: A friendly reminder to all students and parents to please hand in your coupon book orders or return the coupon book to the office asap.

Please complete information forms package and return them to Homeroom teacher asap.

Welcome Back, Meet The Teacher BBQ – TODAY - Wednesday, September 27 - 4:00-7:00 pm Everyone Welcome, including students and family!! There will be burgers, cheese burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs & drinks for sale!! Country Grocer cards gift cards will be sold at the barbecue, all money raised goes directly back to the PAC. Thrifty's Small Cards will be available for pick up. Also, Grade 8 hoodie orders accepted – samples available to try-on at the BBQ!
