Morning Radio News @ 9:05 am


Band Sectionals:
There is a grade 6 Saxophone sectional today in the Band room at 12:46. Please bring your lunch.


Vocal Ensemble:
There is a Vocal Ensemble rehearsal today at 1:16. New members can still sign up!


Craft Club:
The Craft Club is changing it's day from Tuesday to Thursday at 1:16 in the Art room.


Eagles Group:
Our first meeting is today! We will make orange tie dye shirts with the First Nation Eagles Group in the Art Room during advisory. Don't forget to bring your lunch and t-shirt. See you there!


Learning Commons Crew:
There will be a meeting on Thursday, at 1:00 pm, in the learning commons, for students who have filled out an application to be on the LC Crew. If you haven't handed your application form in by then, please bring it with you.


Recess & Lunch in the Learning Commons:
We have purchased 4 new board games to play at recess and lunch - try them out! Computers for homework have priority at recess and lunch, but if they are available you may we try Tux Paint or IXL -  check the list on the wall at the computers. No games, please.


Grade 8 Hoodies: Orders can be handed in at the meet the teacher BBQ
and again on Friday October 6th at Lunch.   Hoodie samples will be available
to try on at these times.  You also have the option of leaving your order
with payment in the PAC BOX across from the office.  Last Date to order is Oct 6th.


Canteen today:
Tuesday: Pizza bread, $ 2.50, Iced tea-50 cent, cookies-$1.00


Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess. Popcorn $1.50,

Orange Shirt Day:

Orange Shirt Day is this Friday. Remember to wear orange on Sept 29 to honour and remember the 150, 000 children and their families who were affected by the Indian Residential School System in Canada. There will be a photo for all students and staff at the front of the school at the beginning of recess.


ROMS SPORTS:


Cross Country:
Just a reminder for the X-country runners that there
is a practice tomorrow morning at 8:15 am.  Please meet in front of the canteen with your PE strip on.  

There will also be a meeting today at first recess in Ms. Wheatley's room in the wolf hallway to discuss rides for the meet this Thursday.  You must have your permission slip in to Ms. Wheatley or Mrs. Smyth by Thursday to go to the meet at Lambrick Park.


Gr 7/8 Girls Basketball:
There is a
open practice for girls interested in playing on the grade 7/8 competitive basketball team today at 3:15 to 4:45 in the gym. There will be an official meeting for any grade 7/8 girls interested in playing on the team later this week, to discuss details of the season. Stay tuned!


Gr 6/7 Girls Soccer:
Attention all grade 6/7 girls soccer players. There will be a very important team meeting for all grade 6/7 girls playing in today's game at Cedar Hill. The meeting will be in the gym during FIRST recess, and please help remind your fellow players of the meeting.


Grade 6/7 Boys Soccer:
There will be an important meeting for all members of the grade 6/7 boys soccer team today after advisory at 1:16 in the gym. 


Soccer:
Reminder to all soccer players to hand your permission forms to Mr. Menzies as soon as possible. Tournaments are taking place this week and you must have your permission form in to play. Please see the PE office for another copy if needed.


Terry Fox Run:
* It's one thing for an Athlete to run across Canada!

* It's another if one of his legs is made of fibre glass and leather!

** This year marks the 37th Anniversary of Terry Fox's MARATHON OF HOPE!!

*** On TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3RD OUR ENTIRE SCHOOL WILL TAKE PART ON OUR OWN VERSION OF THE TERRY FOX RUN!! Bring a toonie for donation!

ROMS PARENT REVIEW:


Grade 6 immunizations
Recently immunization consent packages for grade 6 students were sent home from the school. If you have not already done so, please return the completed consent form to the school in a sealed envelope as soon as possible. Students in grade 6 will be offered immunizations in school-based clinics with the consent of a parent(s) or representative. Please contact the local Health Unit at  250-544-2400 and ask to speak with a Public Health Nurse if you have any questions. Immunizations will be provided at the school for grade 6 students on October 24, 2017.

Coupon Books: A friendly reminder to all students and parents to please hand in your coupon book orders or return the coupon book to the office asap.

Please complete information forms package and return them to Homeroom teacher asap.


Welcome Back, Meet The Teacher BBQ – tomorrow,  Wednesday, September 27 - 4:00-7:00 pm Everyone Welcome, including students and family!! There will be burgers, cheese burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs & drinks for sale!! Country Grocer cards gift cards will be sold at the barbecue, all money raised goes directly back to the PAC. Thrifty's Small Cards will be available for pick up.
