ROMS TV Announcements
Good afternoon Royal Oak and welcome ROMS News. Today is Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 and here is what is happening at 751 Travino Lane.
Do you know that The flamingo can only eat when its head is upside down?
Question of the day: Can frogs breathe under water?
Awww, how cute: Clowder is the appropriate name for a group of cats.
And now for another animal fact: Macaques make snowballs to entertain themselves!
1) Today's weather: This morning we have a mix of sun, sun, and…more sun! It’s 13 degrees outside and getting warmer by the minute. This afternoon it’s expected to be a 20 degrees! We’re not even going to talk about the possibility of rain. Remember to drink lots of water!
2) Keep up your recycling. Recycling reduces the amount of garbage we send to our landfill.
3) Pizza day and chocolate milk is this Friday. You have to love pizza!!
4) Answer to today’s question: Most frogs and toads breathe (and take in moisture) through their skin through a process called cutaneous gas exchange, but they also have lungs with which they breathe. During the time they stay submerged underwater or buried in soil (such as during hibernation) they ONLY breathe through their skin.
5) End of the Year Library Book Return: As of yesterday we have approximately 230 books still not returned. Please come and see Mr. Ball or Ms. Rayner if you know you have a book still signed out. They will be coming around to talk to you, so why not find them first!
That concludes our TV news cast! Please join us tomorrow for further breaking news stories here on 751 News!
Thanks for making ROMS TV your #1 station! If it is happening, it is happening here on 751 TV

With the 2017/2018 ROMS Athletics year just months away, we will be needing community members and parents to help with the supervision, coaching, and transportation for our many teams. School District 63 requires that adults who can assist is any of these ways have an up to date Criminal Record Check on file with our school. Parents are encouraged to get this done now, and avoid the busy start of the year in September when it can take over a month for this to be processed. Our Royal Oak students and staff really appreciate the help with our school teams and are a big part of the success of our Athletics program. Please contact Mr. Menzies or the school office for details.
