Vocal Ensemble: There is a Vocal Ensemble rehearsal today at 1:16 in the Band room!


Girls Circle:
We'll meet in front of the office today at 12:10 to hike and picnic at Elk Lake. Don't forget to bring your water bottle. See you there! 


Pizza Day – Classes will be called in the following order: Raven Hallway, Thunderbird, Wolf & Orca Helpers: Sequara Tank – Mr. Goy class

Track & Field:
Attention all track and field team members! There will be a very important meeting for all students wanting to go to the track and field city finals, today at FIRST recess in the gym. This meeting will be the official registration for all students planning on attending the city finals next Wednesday at UVIC. Mr. Menzies will be also discussing rules and regulations for this event as well, so be sure to attend and help remind friends and classmates who are in track. That's mandatory track meeting, in the gym, FIRST recess today. See you there!

On behalf of the Saanich Peninsula's Local Action Team for Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Martin Brokenleg to the Saanich community. Based on traditional Indigenous practices, Dr. Brokenleg demonstrates how to raise happy, secure, capable, and giving individuals. This free workshop is designed for educators, support staff, parents, and community to live with purpose and to model these teachings, which reflect the BC Ministry of Education's Core Competencies. More information on Dr. Brokenleg and the evening's presentation is attached. Registration link is below.

Field trips: A reminder to parents that the school is busy with field trips at this time of year. If your child has an Epi Pen – please make sure that you send it with your child on the field trip.



PAC REVIEW:

Silent Auction at the Beach House: To Lochside Alumni and all other parents, teachers and staff. You are invited to attend a special evening that is being put on by the Lochside Parent Council. It is being held Friday June 2nd at the Beach House restaurant on Cordova Bay Road. Tickets are $30 each and include a night of appetizers, cash bar, dancing and a silent auction. All the proceeds of the night will go to help purchase an electronic sign for the school. If you would like to attend please email Lynn Hood at lynnmhood@hotmail.com or call at 778-350-4661 to buy tickets. Hope to see many familiar and new faces at this event.

Planning for the Grade 8 Farewell is well underway. As many of you know, the event is on June 26 from 6-9 and the theme for the event is Sunset Beach Party.


Tickets for the event are $10 and will be on sale every Thursday and Friday at lunch recess from May 25-June 9.


Please send baby photos of their kids at the "beach" to melanie.posthuma@ebuynow.com so that we can put together a video to run at the event.
