This is a reminder that there will be band rehearsals today in the gym.

Dance Club: Dance Club meets today at lunch in the Drama Room 116. All dancers please attend.
Craft Club: Today at 1:16 in room 125.
Mountain Bike Club; A reminder that the Mountain Bike Club rides tomorrow after school, don't forget to bring your bike to school.
Canteen tomorrow: Popcorn sold every Wednesday at first recess. Popcorn $1.50,
Welding Camp: July 4-7, 2017 @ Claremont Secondary School. This is a free camp for ages 12-16. Please see Mr. Reston in the Tech Ed shop for details.
Students who have registered for the June beach volleyball tournament in Parks ville, there will be a practice Wednesday and Friday after school this week.
Attention all track and field athletes! The third track meet of the season is tomorrow after school. Events include the 400m, 1200m, boys long jump, girls high jump, shotput, and discus. Please be prepared to tell Mr. Menzies who is driving you to the meet and home at a meeting tomorrow during first recess.
At practice tomorrow morning, we will be organizing all relay teams. All students who intend to run relay at the fourth and final meet must attend. This includes the 4 x 100m, and 4 x 400m relays.

1) Today's weather: Not as warm as yesterday but still a beautiful day. It’s 13 degrees out there right now with a 0% chance of rain. This afternoon it’s expected to reach 19 degrees with a 10% chance of rain.
2) Health Facts: Your heartbeat changes and mimics the music you listen to.
3) There are a lot of school events starting up. Be sure to listen to the morning announcements to see where you might get involved in your school.
4) Keep up your recycling. Recycling reduces the amount of garbage we send to our landfill.
5) Pizza day and chocolate milk is this Friday. You have to love pizza!!

Band Concert & BBQ: Please join us for our annual fund raiser BBQ and Band Concert on Wednesday, May 24th from 4:30-8:00 pm. Everyone Welcome!
Arts Showcase: Students will have the opportunity to show case their art projects and will be on display the evening of the Band Concert. They sign up with Mr. Kenny in the Art Room.
Early Closure: A reminder to parents that next week, Thursday, May 25th is early dismissal @ 2:08 pm
Fieldtrips: A reminder to parents that the school is busy with field trips at this time of year. If your child has an Epi Pen – please make sure that you send it with your child on the field trip.
Silent Auction at the Beach House: To Lochside Alumni and all other parents, teachers and staff. You are invited to attend a special evening that is being put on by the Lochside Parent Council. It is being held Friday June 2nd at the Beach House restaurant on Cordova Bay Road. Tickets are $30 each and include a night of appetizers, cash bar, dancing and a silent auction. All the proceeds of the night will go to help purchase an electronic sign for the school.
