A reminder to students and staff that Monday, May 8th is a Non Instructional Day and classes are not in session. No school Monday!!

Vocal Ensemble: There is a Vocal Ensemble rehearsal today at 1:16 in the Band room!

Elections 2017: We are pleased to announce that Candidate Lana Popham – MLA for the BC NDP party will be attending Royal Oak today during block 2. We invite all classes to join us in the gym for a Question & Answer period.

Attention Grade 8 students: It is time to dig out your baby photos once again. The PAC is looking for your favourite baby beach photo to go into a video for the Grade 8 Farewell. Photo must be submitted by May 24th.

Girls Circle: Girls Circle meets today - We will make sushi in room 215 during advisory today.

France Trip 2018: Students meet at 1:16 today in Mrs. Ryan's room 234.

Pizza Day – Classes will be called in the following order: Raven Hallway, Thunderbird, Wolf and then Orca hallway. Helpers: Youth In Action Team

Pellegrino's: Lemon and Orange Pellegrino's will be available today at 11:23 in the Canteen for $2.00 per can!.

Found: A blue watch has been found. Please claim at the office.


Field Hockey:

Attention all Field Hockey Players-  There will be NO practice on Tuesday, May 9.

Please let Miss Fuller know if you are competing in the Track Meet as soon as possible.

Track & Field: There will be a very important track and field meeting today that al students who are interested in competing in the first meets must attend. The meeting will be in the learning commons at SECOND recess today. Please help remind your friends of the meeting as it is mandatory to attend. If you are unable to attend, please contact Mr. Menzies ASAP. Track and field members are also reminded to hand their permission forms in! 

Badminton: Congratulation to our grade 8 badminton team on their success last night at the City Playoffs. We had several team members advance to the City Finals at SMUS next week. Well done grade 8's!

There will be an important meeting for all badminton players who are playing at SMUS next Monday, in the gym at FIRST recess today. All players must attend.


Compost Soil Sale: Students traveling on our France 2018 spring break trip are fund raising to help cover costs of their trip. Please support them. Compost Soil Sale $10. per bag or 3 for $25. Pick up daily after school until 4:00 pm


Attention Grade 8 families: Please send a baby beach photo of your child to melanie.posthuma@ebuynow.com by May 24 to be included in a video at the Grade 8 Farewell.

Notice of AGM – Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons.

Hanging Baskets orders have been placed, pick up your baskets on May 10th at 2:30 pm in the Tech Ed Shop (front of school).

Staff Appreciation Day:

Let's celebrate ROMS amazing staff!

STAFF APPRECIATION is on WednesdayMay 10th and  we will be celebrating ROMS staff by serving them lunch. We encourage all Students to bring a flower for their teacher. You can pick flowers, purchase flowers, draw flowers or make them out of the tissue. Please drop them off at the front of the school on Wednesday morning. A parent will be there to collect the flowers and make bouquets for the staff.

There are only a few spots left to sign up for helping with the staff lunch.

All students who arrive late for school (last late bell rings at 9:04 am) much check in with the office.
