Congratulations to the Grade 7 Band and Grade 6 Band who performed amazingly at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival on Wednesday and Thursday this week! Mrs. Galvao would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work! Everyone did such a fabulous job!
There is a grade 6 sectional today at 12:47 in the Band room. Please bring your lunch!
There is a Vocal Ensemble rehearsal today at 1:16. All members must attend!
Term 2 Art: Ms Dallimore's term 2 art students: the art room will be open at lunch recess today for you to pick up or glaze your clay projects.
Girls Circle: Girls Circle meets today at advisory, 11:40 in the Blue Conference Room across from Ms. Noel's classroom.. See you there!
Youth in Action is challenging every Royal Oak student to bring in $1 for our We Are Change Campaign! One dollar per student means that more individuals have access to clean water, an education, and food. This campaign will run until April 30th and we would love to see those Starbucks cups in every class full!
We Are Silent is coming to Royal Oak on Tuesday, April 25th! Take the $5 challenge to be completely silent from 9am to 3pm in support of children across the world that have no voice. Youth in Action will be collecting $5 pledges starting at 8:30am on Tuesday and participating students will receive a name tag to wear for the duration of the day. 100% of proceeds go towards our Ecuador Village initiative!
Ms Johnson's and Mr Lloyd's home economics classrooms need buttons. If you have old or new buttons your family can donate, we will gladly accept them. Please bring them directly to the home economics room. Thank you!
Lemon Pellegrinos will be on sale today at 11:23 in the Canteen. Come get one of these ice cold delicious treats!
Bottle Drive: Student Leadership bottle drive runs until Friday April 21st. Proceeds go to help sponsor our international foster child. Please drop off your bottles at the front of the school. Thank you for supporting this great cause.
Attention all badminton players! Today at SECOND recess in the gym, we will be starting the ROMS badminton qualifying tournament. All players who want to compete to earn a spot on our City Play-off tournament team must attend a meeting in the gym. Play will begin today and run through next week. If you are not in attendance you will forfeit your match and reduce your chances of making the team.
Next week's athletics schedule will be posted on the PE office door, and on the ROMS Athletics web page, by the end of the day today. This includes practice schedules for Track and Field, Badminton,
Field Hockey, and Rugby.
The 2017 Track and Field season is up and running. Please go to lowerislandschoolsports.ca and the ROMS athletics webpage to see track meet dates, and to see which events are happening at each meet. There will be a general sign up meeting next week, so please listen carefully to the announcements for a time and location.
