No School Monday: A reminder that Monday, March 6th is a Non Instructional Day and classes are not in session.

Talent Show Performers: Please meet in Mrs. Ryan's room 234 at 1:16 today for an important meeting. Everyone must attend.

Girls Circle:
Please meet in the Blue Conference room to paint picture frames at 12:15 pm today. See you there!

Clay Club:
Clay club is canceled for lunch time today.

Visitors: Tomorrow we welcome a group of students and teachers from KIE/KATO GAKUEN Junior High School in Japan. They will be visiting our school from March 4-14th.



Congratulations to the 6/7 boys competitive team on a great season. They boys played their last season game yesterday at Dunsmuir and proudly represented Royal Oak. Great job boys!

Players are reminded to ensure you have returned all jerseys to Mr. Menzies if you accidentally took one home.

Today at SECOND recess, there will be an open gym for all grade 8 students who have participated on a ROMS volleyball team this year. All players are encouraged to come as exhibition games will be organized and this is a chance to play along side or against your fellow Eagles.

Next week, playoffs begin and we are hosting games for our grade 7 and grade 8 girls here at ROMS on Tuesday and Wednesday after school. Come out and cheer your fellow Eagles on!

Attention all 6/7 boys rugby players and Grade 6-8 girls who are interested in playing rugby this season. There will be a general meeting today at FIRST recess in Mr. Reston's Tech Ed room to discuss general details of the upcoming season. Please be there right at the beginning of first recess and help remind your friends, That's all 6/7 boys, and any girls girls who are interested, please attend the meeting.

Parenting Social Media - with Jesse Miller (www.mediatedreality.com) – This social media awareness session will offer a number of suggestions and tips that will help you start the journey with your family. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 7:00 pm Claremont Ridge Theatre. This is a free workshop, registration is not required. Session is approximately 1.5 hours

Canada 150:

Royal Oak students have the opportunity to be videoed by Historica Canada on what Canada means to them. Participating students need to have a permission form signed prior to being videoed. 
participating students are eligible to win great prizes and get a slice of pizza. 

Intermediate Prizes (Ages 11-13) – The 1st place winner will receive a $3,000 gift card, choosing one of the following: Air Canada, Via Rail, Indigo, Best Buy or Cineplex. 

Senior Prizes (Ages 14-18) – The 1st place winner will receive a $5,000 gift card, choosing one of the following: Air Canada, Via Rail, Indigo, Best Buy or Cineplex. 

The People’s Choice Prize – The participant who submits the video with the highest number of votes will receive a Best Buy E-Gift Card valued at $1,000. The People’s Choice Prize is open to all video submissions.
